Which is more likely?
Is it more likely that Michigan basketball will continue to beat Sparty or that Sparty will continue to beat Michigan in football? Back your answers up with reasons why.
Michigan beating State in basketball. Reason? That answer will be more popular here than the other.
Considering that we lead the all-time series in both sports by 20+ games, I think it's the former.
Michigan beating State in basketball, and Michigan beating State in football, because that is what will happen.
M Go Blue
Well I say no.
Both.
Reason: Magic 8 ball.
All I got was "Ask again later"
But never works with cops.
Both. After the past three years, the law of averages says that we have a massive dse of good karma coming our way.
Serious answer: Both. With the positive press, our recruiting will improve and we will go back to owning State in FB. They will stop out-recruiting us in-state, and be forced to settle largely for kids that we don't offer.
In BB, we are on the rise. SUccess leads to success. JB is a hell of a coach, and I only see the excitement (and therefore recruiting) building over the next season. MSU will hold its own, but we are on the way back from the abyss.
I'm certain the answer is 11.
Its definitely 52.
Ahh I knew it. Jordan Morgan is the answer.
We're the Big Ten obviously the answer is ... 12.
Posts like this clogging the board.
Reason-I pissed someone off in a former life.
You must be picken green boogers and eating them?
What?
C. Always go with C. Which is: We beat their ass in everything
Rivals football recruiting rankings:
2008: U of M - 10, MSU 47
2009: U of M - 8, MSU - 17
2010: U of M - 20, MSU - 30
2011: U of M - 21, MSU - 31
Trust me, MSU is not going to be continue beating Michigan in football.
In basketball, our three best players, by far, are a sophomore and two freshmen.
So Michigan.
Most likely is the ass clown Valenti either taking Monday off, or bitching about something said or did during the win today!!
Go Blue
If he has the sack to show up on Monday, he'll turn the whole conversation into an indictment about Morris and his scuffle with Lucas. Next he'll filter the phone calls to include Spartan fans and only the most bellicose Michigan fans so he can put the ugliest face on the U of M fanbase possible. A more intellectually dishonest broadcaster, I can't recall.
There's no doubt in my mind. He would catch SOOOO much **** for not showing up.. he would catch even more crap on Tuesday then he orginally would on Monday. Also, I think he will initially own up and admit he was wrong. But he will mostly just bash his bad MSU team rather than give much credit to Michigan. Then after "owning up to it" for the first 5-10 minutes, he'll spend the rest of the day picking up on the "dud" UM fan callers, lining them up, and sitting them down. It's a joke. He tries to act like a radio host can't pick and choose callers but does he really think we're all that stupid? I wish he would just give UM their props for one day.. but like I said, he'll rant at MSU, then he'll spend the rest of the day bashing Michigan and their fans.
I would prefer to have Stoney sitting with Terry. At least Stoney is fair and balanced.
I have written to every sponsor of that show to tell them Valenti sux. People listen because he is an ass. Their ratings are very high. The only way to affect change is to write the sponsors and tell then that you do listen but dispise their product. I refuse to patron any of their sponsors...including Maxyourgold.
we definitely should be able to sweep them in basketball again. They are losing Lucas who kills us every time we play them. With all our players back, the chance to close the gap in basketball has never been bigger.
Also I just saw the Fab5 commercial on ESPN...badass.
It is more likely that Michigan will regain their traditional dominance in both football and basketball. The short-lived era of Sparty Arrogance is officially over. But if you want a "reason," how about "regression to the mean?"
Sparty's fifteen year basketball dominance and three year football dominance are both statistical aberrations. They are about to correct themselves. Sparty parties are going to have to be at someone else's expense now.
We win in both! Enough said.
I don't think we'll lose to them in anything ever again.
Would go with the former, since Michigan has a good young team
Right now, I think UM will regain its dominance over MSU in football before UM takes over MSU's place in the basketball world. UM football is the winningest program in the history of CFB and MSU is barely over .500. For all of MSU's struggles, Izzo still recruits well and this team played for an MNC two years ago and was (admittedly lucky) playing in the FF last year. They are a good team as long as Izzo is there, and that won't change. I do think the rivalry will become less lopsided, though, as Beilein continues to recruit and develop this team.
+1 Bronx
on green Greek boys will continue to be their downfall.
