Where were you when you heard?

Where were you when you heard about the Tressel resignation news?

I was at the US Airways ticket counter at Metro airport on my way to Boston.  I overheard a skycap yell the news to the ticket agent.  I immediately pushed my wife out of the way, confirmed it with him, and spent the rest of the preflight wait sharing the news with everyone in a Michigan t-shirt.

Any insight from the MGoCommunity on decent to good strip clubs in Detroit? Im going up there in 2 weeks for what was supposed to be my brother's bachelor party...the bitch left him high and dry, but the rest of us deemed it appropriate to carry on with the festivities. Early morning golf, Tigers game, booze and boobs. Thanks in advance.

I woke up a little later than usual (Memorial Day drinking, despite having to go to work). As is routine, I fired up the laptop, which goes to homepage ESPN.com and saw "Tressel Resigns".

I'm on the West Coast FYI, so it's not like I woke up at 2 or anything, not that I have to defend anything.

I woke up a little earlier than usual (serious) at 1 in the afternoon.  Did the same and got my laptop out and went to my homepage of mgoblog.  Saw the thread, was like "no wayz dawg!" and went to Yahoo to confirm (it's a bookmark, gotta love Yahoo) and saw it.

Then I put my jersey on, walked into my parent's room (home on college summer break) and announced the news as my dad smiled and mom grinned despite her being from an all out Ohio St. family.

Good day.  This is like the anti-9/11 for the fact that I'll remember the morning action for action for awhile most likely.

Maybe so, but that's actually what happened. I woke up, realized I had forgotten to do some dishes from the night before, turned on ESPN and turned it up so I could hear it, then I was cleaning a dish, and I heard "Jim Tressel has resigned."

I figured it was oddly appropriate.

I was in my bed, minding my own peace in my sleep. When my father stormed in and yelled "GOOD BYE SWEATVEST" and I immediately jumped up flipped open my laptop and saw it on espn.com. Then I ran a marathon through my house.

After driving back from a Memorial Day event with the family, looked at my twitter feed and saw about 100 tweets by UM posters.  Figured something must be up, and confirmed with Brian's eloquently text-message post.

I woke up at a friend's house, and checked mgoblog on my ipod touch (as I always do when I wake up). When I heard the news, I cheered so loud that I woke up my friend. It was worth it.

Sat up in bed and grabbed my laptop to check French Open scores. Went something along the lines of "ok, yahoo... sports... alright, Tressel resigns? Neat, ok tennis... wait, WHAT??"

I came downstairs at about 7:00 this morning (in California) and pulled up ESPN to see what was new in the world of sports.  I have been smiling ever since.

My buddy (OSU fan) simply texted:

"Tress is gone"

Living in Columbus, I get to see the implosion first hand with a euphoria that only Charlie Sheen would understand.

I had just woken up, saw it on espn.com on my phone and gasped.  Read the article and had one thought ... maybe he would be a good Auburn QB coach.

Turned on the tv to watch the SDS game replay and hopped on my MGoBlog App to drop a line in the Memorial Day thread and it had just been poster here. Pretty much before anywhere else.

Was in Red River Gorge, KY packing up our weekend campsite. My wife turned to me as her phone acquired service reading a text that Tressel was done. I gingerly walked over to her brothers car and informed the two once proud Buckeye fans of the news.
