That was the first time I've asked a question like that on this board in the two years I have been here, and somehow, that was egregious enough to nail me for 250 points after yelling at me. I got the message.
Geaux_Blue: please go back and read my OP. I was asking about cable coverage in Canada - not about bars. But thanks for locking the thread and nailing me. That was very very uncool.

As a more general suggestion to everyone, use the Michigan Alumni site to find an Alumni group wherever you are traveling and it's likely that you'll get some friendly assistance.
Until I tried that I bumped into a lot of Nebraska Football fans, it's amazing how many cornhuskers are out in the Seattle area, and they definitely take over whatever sports bar they've picked as home away from home.

You are not kidding about the Cornhusker contingent. A couple weeks ago I went to the UW game against Nebraska and it was unbelievable--they occupied almost the entire arc of seating behind the north end zone, had large blocks of fans at several places in the west stands as well, and then a fair number of scattered people all throughout the stadium.
Anyway, I take it Rocksports in West Seattle is no longer a Michigan place? I haven't been to see a game at a bar in a couple years (had a baby in '07) but I may this week because I only get ESPNU in low-definition.

Come to Buckley's - great place to watch the games! I'm there every Saturday, and there's a pretty large group of fans (100 or so) that show up. It's a really rowdy and fun crowd, and the alumni association sponsors trivia and giveaways at halftime.

+1 to reach out to alumni groups. I was in Paris last year when the Iowa game was scheduled, so I found and emailed the alumni club leader there and got a reply back in a day. Of course the game started at 2 am Paris time so that didn't work out. But he was responsive!

These bar locations change constantly. I can understand why people post a new thread on it. The suggestions from last year often are no longer relevant.
Besides if it bothers me that much I can ignore the thread, while I go assess the issues under my own hood as to why something that trifling would bother me (or instigate a rude comment).

I highly recommend watching from the comfort of your own living room.
No long lines for the bathroom? CHECK.
Easy access to food/beverage of choice? CHECK.
Ability to switch channels to games of your choice? CHECK.
Seems like a winner to me...

I live in Seattle, across the street from Buckley's in fact. Buckley is the best place to watch a Michigan game with other Michigan fans. It's packed, and often offers $5 pitchers (!!!) for Michigan fans. The food there is really good too. It's within a $8 cab fare of all downtown hotels.
Of course, I hate watching Michigan games on TV with people (my feelings were very well summarized here: http://inrodwetrust.net/michiganfootball/leave-me-you-know-not-my-pain/).
I'd rather just crawl out of bed (sometimes hungover, sometimes still drunk), toss on whichever jersey is running hot (currently a home adidas #1), cue up mgoblog's liveblog, and moan/exult in despair/joy in solitude.
As for the other places - I'm not a fan of the fox sports grill. Taphouse is okay, but its super expensive compared to Buckleys, and has more of a restaurant atmosphere than a sports bar vibe.
