Where to watch the game in Ann Arbor

Submitted by BlueMetal on

This probably seems like a stupid question, but I'm bringing my 8 year old and 5 year old up from Ohio tomorrow for the Men's BB game.  Going to spend the day in Ann Arbor.  I know there is bw3, is that going to be the best kid friendly spot to watch the game?

Jesus. I feel extra special now. In my head the Bball game was tomorrow so I was going to spend all day in AA before going to the game. Someone smarter than me can go ahead and delete this.

You've already shown you can take a licking and keep on ticking!

Watch the football game at Conor O'Neill's on Main Street.  Good place for kids - bunch of locals and fans watching the game without a lot of drunks or swearing.  Okay food, but the chicken fingers and burgers have always been a fan favorite for my kids.  Good beer - good atmosphere - good service.  Go Blue!!

Part of me wants to mock this post, but a bigger part of me could see myself (mice-elf?) in the same situation as the OP.  Plus, the kid-friendly aspect is a reasonable one, so the question is not inherently silly.

So rather than mock it, here's a suggestion.  Go all-in and change the OP to ask "Where is the MIchigan-fan bar in Ann Arbor?"  Because I thought the post was a joke making sport of all the (i) "where's the Michigan-friendly bar in Chicago?" type post, which is clutter (and covered elsewhere on the site), or (ii) "where's the Michigan-friendly bar in Bilbao?" type post, which is humblebrag pure and simple.

So I would go ahead and turn it into a full-on spoof.  "Does anyone know of any place in Ann Arbor that will be showing the IU game?"  And don't include the "/s" - because it ruins the gag.

Just take out the unintentional "stupidity" (which isn't that bad - I'm very sympathetic to taking young kids to a game environment that will be fun for them, not replete with profanity, and otherwise in all ways different than my living room when I'm watching a debacle like the MSU game), and replace it with intentional and comedic stupidity.

You have to own the bit for it to work!  In the meantime, have a great time with your kids at the MBB game, and enjoy the town.
