Where did all the enthusiasm go?
WARNING: The following is an optimistic from-the-heart post, and will therefore irritate the sober pessimists here. So be it.
All the enthusiasm for the start of the season, for last week's much needed victory was great. But it seems to have dropped off more than expected for the game this weekend. That is not acceptable!!!!! Come on guys and gals!!! This is Notre Dame week!!!! We can beat these guys!!!! Our athletes are just as good - I would put Warren and Cissoko up against any receiver duo in the nation (especially Warren). We have Graham. We have Martin. Yes ND perhaps has had better recruiting classes in the past few years - but we all know what that means - NOTHING. We have Barwis. Yes, perhaps their QB is more experienced and is finally living up to his potential. But we have a dynamic set of playmakers at the same position. The two should produce just as well. And we have better RBs. And we have two of the best coaching minds in the business - RR and GERG. Let's pick up the enthusiasm about this game!! Where are the ideas about chants, signs, going to the walk before the game, etc. etc.???
Come on, its ND week!!!!!!!!!

kidding me? This post makes my head hurt.
And after the first weekend, I have no idea why you'd "especially" prefer Warren to Cissoko. They're both really really good, but I like the way Cissoko plays a lot.

I do really like the way he plays. fast agressive, Cissoko for being a sophmore sure looks good very fluid in his hips. I think he is going to be very good all big ten type corner

Huh? Have you not been reading the board? There has been so many posts this week that I can barely find time to read half of them. We're excited. Really.

I guess I'm missing this lack of enthusiasm? I think people are very, VERY excited for this game, and cautiously optimistic that we can take it to a good ND team after the showing we had against WMU. I know this week can't go by fast enough, GO BLUE!

Why was I not told!

If the enthusiasm is here and I have overlooked it, it is my fault. I am relieved. Go Blue!!!

I would not put Warren and Cissoko up against any receiving duo, and Cissoko might be hurt. These are the best receivers we'll probably see this year, and Clausen might be the best QB we'll see this year. There is reason for trepidation (even though I don't get the same feeling that enthusiasm has waned).
I have other points to make, but reading your post made me tired.

enthusiastic if Michigan beats Notre Dame. If they lose, Rich Rod needs to be fired and thrown into that pit from the 300 movie.

To a degree, some of the hype and passion last week was pure anticipation of the season starting. Man, it's been a long, long, long off season and I for one was about to go mad with anticipation. Also, I think there is some "relief" in the UM world this week based on our performance last week.
I don't think anyone here thinks this weeks' game is not big, or important...but I certainly feel more confident now about this game and I'm much more "relaxed" this week now that we are finally underway (much to my wife's relief).

Agreed. Last week was all the built-up offseason hype that worked itself into a frenzy. I don't think the passion or excitement have dropped off that much though, especially considering the Freep nonsense we've had to deal with.

but your post didn't irritate me. Sorry.

I think our defense makes a stand this week. Brandon graham and Mike Martin get after Jimmy which forces him to make bad decisions like he always does and warren and cissoko reap the benifits. I am sorry I watched the ND game and all his deep throws were hanging in the air. Now its going to be a lil different when you have all big ten type corners covering, who can accually jump and knock down a pass, not stand and let a reciever jump over you

wooooo....
Sorry, still recovering from all of the drama.

WMU was a huge relief with all of the "drama" leading up to the game and not knowing what to expect. Now we're back to X's and O's but, believe me, the heart is racing with anticipation for the matchup with ND and Michigan Stadium will be jacked!

I created this thread in a fit of worried emotional angst over this game, which turned out to be was unfounded. The thread needs to die.
