Where are M fans sitting at Rice-Eccles?

Submitted by Dallas Walmart… on

Just got my plane tickets to SLC.  Next up is trying to find some reasonably priced game tickets, but first I want to try and figure out which section of the stadium will have the best concentration of M fans.  Is there a good way to do this?  For those going to the game, where are you sitting?

I'm responding to this so it will be towards the top of this thread. The Utah ticket deartment is selling ticket packages for $300 per package (or at least they were last week...I'm not sure if they're sold out). The package includes one ticket to the Michigan, Cal, Colorado, and UCLA games. If you don't want to spend $500 or $600 per ticket, this is a good way to get to the game for only $300. I'm getting married at Rice Eccles the Saturday after the Michigan game and have been working with their operations and ticket department to get myself and the rest of the people flying in early into the game. Unless you either get very lucky or want to pay double that amount, this is going to be your only way to get into the game. Scalping at the stadium, you will probably pay around $700 or $800, so my suggestion would be to get your tickets now or be ready to drop close to a grand. Good luck MgoTicket purchasers!

I believe tickets go on sale 2 weeks from today (if they have any left). I'd rather not pay the current asking prices on stubhub, scalping may be my best option. What is everyone else doing for tickets?

I just called the ticket office, the # is 801 581 8849. The guy I talked to was pretty helpful, and he said $100 is the minimum donation I believe. You can hold off and wait til the 17th but chances they have any left after the presale I'm sure are pretty slim. This is most likely what I will end up doing, I'd give them a call for sure.

This is just my own personal preference, but I would never get on a plane for an event I didn't have tickets in hand for. I'd hate to go through all that effort and have issues with trying to buy from someone around the stadium.

I talked to the ticket department, they said that the tickets that are on sale right now are only for Crimson Club members level 9-12, which is minimum $15,000 donation. He expects them to sell out before the end of the day. That's the total allotment they have for "public" sale.

The wife and I will be in w12 toward the top. I'm sure I paid for at least half of someone's entire season ticket for the price we paid. But whatever, I live in SLC and when will UM ever be making a return trip?

I'll be out there as part of my travels for my honeymoon, and my fiance and I just said screw it and bought tickets on Stubhub. $600 for two tickets much more than I originally wanted to but, screw it, Harbaugh. I'll be in the Section E32 Row 51.

Good luck with that. A tiny stadium and UofU fans are pretty avid fans all things considered. Then you add in that Michigan fans travel well and that doesn't make for a good buyers market. I just don't think it's going to happen. We bit the bullet and paid the $500 per. Hopefully it all works out for everyone traveling in for the game.

It's my reward from the wife for following her around the country for med school, residency, and fellowship (first day as an attending today!). It's the only thing that I really wanted for myself. But yeah, I've never spend that much otherwise.

Just an FYI, I'm not sure if there are any left, but the Utah ticket department was selling a 4 game package for $300. It includes Michigan, Cal, Colorado, and UCLA. This is a good way to pay only $300 for a ticket and then you can sell the other 3 tickets to try and recoup some of the money. There will be 15 Michigan fans sitting above the Utah student section who will then be going to Trails after the game (one of the better strip clubs in Utah) for my future wife and I's bachelor/bachelorette party. We will also be tailgating before the game, so anyone is welcome to join in the festivities!

Unfortunately I'm still working on that. Last resort I have a couple houses rented a couple blocks from the stadium that I'll tailgate at, but I'm hoping the ridiculous amount of money I'm dropping to get married there the weekend after gets me an "in" for a tailgateing spot!

Guardsman has been 100% sold out since the early 90s.  You can contact the Crimson Club Athletic Fund to find out other options.

Technically tailgating is allowed anywhere on campus.  You'll probably also hear that alcohol is prohibited on campus which is true on  any public campus in the state.  That being said, the spirit of the law rather than the letter of the law is enforced on gameday.

One last  word of advice, on gameday your game ticket is also your ticket on UTA's Trax light rail which has a stop just west of the stadium.  All but a couple of tiny parking lots on campus are reserved parking on gameday.

Hope you enjoy your trip!

Has anyone joined the crimson club and purchased tickets? It looks like the presale starts today for crimson club members. Also, for anyone who has done this: how much are the tickets through the Crimson Club?

EDIT: nevermind, looks only the higher level donors have access today. The people who donate $50-$100 don't have presale access until the 13th.
