Where are M fans sitting at Rice-Eccles?
Just got my plane tickets to SLC. Next up is trying to find some reasonably priced game tickets, but first I want to try and figure out which section of the stadium will have the best concentration of M fans. Is there a good way to do this? For those going to the game, where are you sitting?

this is probably the biggest non-conference game Utah has played at home in a long time. I'm guessing this might be the first time a 'blue blood' of college football has traveled to Utah for a non-conference game.

I'll be in Section 32, row 50-something, dressed in khakis and a maize shirt.
$300 each from Stub Hub. E32, Row 55.
Hope we didn't buy the same seats :)
I'm in the same section and was thinking of wearing khakis with a blue sweatshirt and the block M snap back.

I believe tickets go on sale 2 weeks from today (if they have any left). I'd rather not pay the current asking prices on stubhub, scalping may be my best option. What is everyone else doing for tickets?

Utah is selling tickets to the general public starting Aug. 17th. I doubt there will be any left though.

If you donate $100 you can get the crimson club presale and up to 4 tickets, may be worth it if the stubhub prices don't go down

I just called the ticket office, the # is 801 581 8849. The guy I talked to was pretty helpful, and he said $100 is the minimum donation I believe. You can hold off and wait til the 17th but chances they have any left after the presale I'm sure are pretty slim. This is most likely what I will end up doing, I'd give them a call for sure.
This is actually a terrific idea. I think I'm going this route. Thanks!

This is just my own personal preference, but I would never get on a plane for an event I didn't have tickets in hand for. I'd hate to go through all that effort and have issues with trying to buy from someone around the stadium.
I talked to the ticket department, they said that the tickets that are on sale right now are only for Crimson Club members level 9-12, which is minimum $15,000 donation. He expects them to sell out before the end of the day. That's the total allotment they have for "public" sale.

The wife and I will be in w12 toward the top. I'm sure I paid for at least half of someone's entire season ticket for the price we paid. But whatever, I live in SLC and when will UM ever be making a return trip?

After the ass-whooping we hand them, we won't ever be invited back.

I'll be out there as part of my travels for my honeymoon, and my fiance and I just said screw it and bought tickets on Stubhub. $600 for two tickets much more than I originally wanted to but, screw it, Harbaugh. I'll be in the Section E32 Row 51.

Good luck with that. A tiny stadium and UofU fans are pretty avid fans all things considered. Then you add in that Michigan fans travel well and that doesn't make for a good buyers market. I just don't think it's going to happen. We bit the bullet and paid the $500 per. Hopefully it all works out for everyone traveling in for the game.

$500 per ticket!!! It's not the damn Rose Bowl.

It's my reward from the wife for following her around the country for med school, residency, and fellowship (first day as an attending today!). It's the only thing that I really wanted for myself. But yeah, I've never spend that much otherwise.

We paid $286 each on ticketnetwork.com.

$500 isn't the norm. Section w12 is more or less on the 50 yard line and it protected from the western sun by the boxes (which is important when you're so fair you're practically translucent like I am).
August 3rd, 2015 at 12:24 PM ^
Hopefully sun won't be a huge problem, since it's an evening game, but thanks for the heads-up - my son and husband are also very fair so we'll be sure to bring extra sunscreen and hats!

The Utah sun is no joke. I can't really remember what time the sun goes down in early Sept here but it's still up in the western sky pretty late right now.
for the east coast, that's 6pm Utah time so it'd be sunny for a good portion of the first half. I live in Colorado and being a mile closer to the sun does make a difference. I'm guessing SLC's elevation is around 5,000'.
Kickoff = 6:30 pm local time; Sunset = 7:57 pm local time, probably late in the second quarter.
Is Utah in some special time zone where they are only 30 minutes off from the neighboring time zones?
If it's a 7:57 kickoff on the east coast, that's 5:57 Utah time.
Also: Higher elevation. Much easier to get burned quickly. And lower oxygen concentration in the air. Much easier for DB's to get burned quickly. Boosh.

you know anyone that has a permit for the Guardsman Lot they are selling?
August 3rd, 2015 at 12:21 PM ^
Guardsman has been 100% sold out since the early 90s. You can contact the Crimson Club Athletic Fund to find out other options.
Technically tailgating is allowed anywhere on campus. You'll probably also hear that alcohol is prohibited on campus which is true on any public campus in the state. That being said, the spirit of the law rather than the letter of the law is enforced on gameday.
One last word of advice, on gameday your game ticket is also your ticket on UTA's Trax light rail which has a stop just west of the stadium. All but a couple of tiny parking lots on campus are reserved parking on gameday.
Hope you enjoy your trip!

Has anyone joined the crimson club and purchased tickets? It looks like the presale starts today for crimson club members. Also, for anyone who has done this: how much are the tickets through the Crimson Club?
EDIT: nevermind, looks only the higher level donors have access today. The people who donate $50-$100 don't have presale access until the 13th.

We are section N21, row 43.
