It's "What Biden". Two capital letters were missing from the comment. What is Joe's lesser known, half-brother. Going back to early childhood, What and Joe often traded places in school, on dates, etc., since they look so much alike. Since his election as VP, only people playing close attention can tell when What is making public appearances in Joe's place. For instance, on March 23 during the signing of the health care bill live on television, he said to the President, "This is a big f--king deal!" News reporters looked at each other and asked, "What in the hell?" Exactly.

NO POLITICS /sarcasm, heavy, heavy sarcasm That being said, I did have a friend interviewed by the Freep about what they (and a bunch of other students) wanted to hear from Obama, and I hope he doesn't speak on politics and instead speaks to all the graduates, politics aside. It is, of course, their day, not his and not a forum for politics, much like this board.

What would constitute politics in Obama's speech? A serious question. It's difficult for someone who is centrally involved in American politics to speak without it being political. When LBJ spoke at graduation in 1964, he coined the phrase "the Great Society," and laid out a particular notion of liberal nationalism; Kennedy announced the formation of the Peace Corps (I don't think at graduation, but still on UM campus), etc. Obvs., both of those represented important political ideals of their administrations. Were they political? I think direct attacks on his political opponents are out of bounds, and every graduation speaker knows that, but he's almost certainly going to lay out a vision of where he thinks the country is going, what the role of government is within that path, and what the graduates' place within the relationship between government and society should be. In that sense, his speech will be political in the broad sense. That's why he's been invited.

and saw AF1 take off in 00' when he gave EMU's commencement address. Cool beans. I don't care what your politics, seeing the President is pretty cool. I always have respect for whomever is in office because the pressure of that office are unlike any on earth. Only 44 men knew/know of that pressure.
