When is the media going to expose Brandon?

Submitted by Marshmallow on

Yeah, I know, we have our coach, let's move on.  I say no.  UM isn't a private school or the CIA.  The alumni, students and Michigan taxpayers have a right to know how Brandon's so-called "process" worked, what happened with Harbaugh and Miles and when Hoke was really offered.  There was a lot of reporting during what I refer to as "Hell Week" for Michigan fans after the bowl game that contradicts Brandon's public statements.  Michigan should having a winning team, but it should be about integrity too.  That starts from the top down.  Brandon has displayed nothing but the utmost arrogance, condescension and lack of integrity.  Who in the media is going to take him to task?  Isn't the purpose of journalism to promote transparency and accountability?

DB demonstrated his integrity by allowing his current coach, and future coach, to complete their seasons and bowl games with their current players...it was an honorable, deliberate approach; he explained his position on this over and over again.  He got the right guy in the end, and the jury is still out on the impact to recruiting.  It is entirely possible that the same recruits that changed their mind after the coaching change would have done so even if the change was made right after the OSU game...

Nah, I have defended my position.  But man people act like I just declared allegiance to the Buckeyes.  I guess you can't really express an opinion around here anymore without getting negbanged and criticized like you're Rich Rodriguez or some other person who single-handedly destroyed Michigan football /s

Your original argument not only lacked logic but it revealed a complete ignorance to facts that could have easily been found. Dave Brandon's salary is not funded by the state, so he isn't forced to reveal his actions or intentions.

You scream about a lack of integrity yet you just make a general accusation. Miles and Harbaugh had other options to choose from. Otherwise, your only motivation is that you were displeased with how the process played out and who was hired. That's irrelevant to the point you're trying to make and comes off as delusional.

I'm semi new around here and the second I read your first post I knew you were in some trouble.  What's the point of going back and "exposing" DB?  You're the dark cloud on a great day for Michigan football.  Nobody's a saint and nobody said DB is.  I dont agree with the entire process but I sure as hell will support him and whoever he hires.

I want to know how these Sociology professors get hired.  And then where the hell do they get these advisors in the Residential College?

I'm not getting my drawers in a bunch until we get those questions answered also!

Why do so many people call DB arrogant? I don't get it. Is it because he wears a suit and tie, is an eloquent speaker, and has more money than most of us? Or is it because the naysayers lack self-esteem, are negative nancys, and are dead inside?

Because it's not worth its own thread. But more worthy of a thread than this. Why does "Footsteps" Falco suck? Because he went to Ohio State.

The US Gov't contracts with my company, and pays my salary, would you also like to know how much I make?

How about what I had for breakfast this morning?  If you must know, it was Panera and it was tasty.

Dave Brandon is no fool.  He is smart enough to not leave a paper trail.

He will be able to "not confirm nor deny" or "not recall" and no one will be able to prove otherwise.

The accusation that "Brandon has displayed nothing but the utmost arrogance, condescension and lack of integrity" is inflamatory and just plain stupid.  What Brandon has displayed is the he is smarter than an idiot like Marshmallow.

.....having the right to do something with doing it being a good idea. For example, I have a right to pierce my ears with bullets, turn my hair into a pink Mohwak, and sing show tunes to my boss, but that doesn't make it a good idea. Irrespective of how the Athletic Department is funded, someone can use FOIA to obtain information about the search process.

As DC he will pick the coach who he projects will do the best job at the school.  BH was his favorite all along.  I think he would have hired BH a month to 6 weeks earlier but he could not pass up the chance of hiring JH.  I do believe JH did express interest in coaching at Michigan back in November but opportunities coaching in the NFL opened up and there went JH.  I think the national coaching search was a wasted week since DB wanted BH all along.  Well I hope BH does a great job and like RR he has my full support.

It's also an excellent place to conduct national coaching searches, should the need ever arise again. On other threads, in fact, it looks as if people may be coming here to quietly look for the next BB coach......if they had their way anyway.
