How many hours of practice/training does a typical FBS athlete go through in a given year?
I realize that there's a fair amount of variability due to required workouts vs non, personal training, etc. but I do wonder what the average load is.

Stupid follow up question: how are some teams allowed to start practicing before others?
Wouldn't every team want to begin as early as possible? I would think that if Bama is starting several days before us, that would be an advantage to them.
Some teams have more two-a-days and off days than others.
Still lifting this week. Then a week off and the camp starts the next week so around the 6th. This according to walk on WR i work with on athletic campus grounds crew.
I can't help but laugh every time I see the phrase "dong forest". Looking forward to camp news.

When do we get off of probation? Do we have full practice time this year?
I think the probation was for 3 years (10, 11, 12) and we were way ahead of schedule in cutting practice hours as of a year ago...should be done with cutting hours by now.
As was noted in this thread, the deadline for completing the practice reductions was the 2011-12 academic year, so the practice cuts are definitely done.
So we're done with any sort of penalties except for the probation which is eccentially just a don't screw up type of thing.
Yes, and to answer your other question, the probation ends on November 2, 2013 (per the NCAA infractions report).
Following the same rules, assuming they don't skip any practice days, they'll start on Mon, 6 Aug.
ND and Bama and whoever else that is on this schedule better hope we get less practice than anyone else, they are gonna need all the help they can get. GO BLUE and GO Denard.
