Saw this linked on another site and felt it was worth bringing over here. Did not see this posted in the earlier TJ thread. Really impressive kid.

Maybe you should learn when people are having a little fun on a message board about our biggest rival the last month. Get back to class UNC.

I am very happy that these great young men who make this commitment to the University of Michigan now have great coaches who will challenge and guide them to be their best.
February 4th, 2015 at 11:31 PM ^
Thanks for posting. What an impressive young man.
February 4th, 2015 at 11:31 PM ^
What a great kid. He killed that Q&A. If Tyrone Sr. does as good of a job as a Coach as he did as a parent, he'll be outstanding.
February 5th, 2015 at 8:43 AM ^
Agreed. TJ's really lucky his childhood was the opposite of his dad's. But I hope they have similar college careers!
February 4th, 2015 at 11:35 PM ^
Glad you chose to share the link in here. Thanks.
Very well-spoken young man. So happy he has chosen Michigan to be his home for the next few years.

Very impressive. Have had a chance to meet Wheatley Sr. and not a surprise at all. I know I wasn't that composed, and articulate at 17.
When it comes to this recruiting class, don't be surprised if we have a lot of three starts blossoming ala Mike Hart.
The fact that JH got to scout and pick 8 of his players means alot to me, more so than the kids ranking. Also if you look at the kids we got today, I'd say 11-12 out of 14 had very impressive offer sheets.
February 4th, 2015 at 11:45 PM ^
for his commitment more than any of the others deciding today. He's a mature, focused young man who will represent the university well. And here's to hoping he burns a legacy as enduring as his dad's.
February 4th, 2015 at 11:48 PM ^
It's going to be interesting to see what position he is going to play at Michigan. I like the idea of him at DE, I watched a video of him at a camp in a 1v1's rushing drill, young man is real good with his hands to get off blocks and such.
But at the same time I think he'll see the field faster at TE

What a fantastic response to the fat-fingered man, who asks at the end whether T.W. Jr. doesn’t feel "a lot of pressure following in a father’s footsteps":
T.W. Jr.: “I don’t really think it’s a lot of pressure. I’m excited to walk in the same sand that he did, but not exactly in the same footsteps. I’m going to work hard and hopefully build my own name and my own brand as well.”
Well said, T.W. Jr.
Well said.
February 5th, 2015 at 8:53 AM ^
That may be the best response I have ever heard at one of these events. Thoughtful kid - I'm so glad he went Blue. I see great things for him when his playing days are over (hopefully a long time from now)!
February 4th, 2015 at 11:48 PM ^
Ya know......#6 is open if he wants it....
February 5th, 2015 at 12:00 AM ^
Tyrone Sr. is a damn beast...
February 5th, 2015 at 11:34 AM ^
Sr.'s shoulder pads are a beast.
February 5th, 2015 at 12:02 AM ^
I've seen this picture a bunch and it still looks like an optical illusion.
February 5th, 2015 at 12:50 AM ^
I was looking for this picture earlier to show a non-football fan friend and needed to blow up a little version I found on Google.
Initial -1 turned into a +1.
February 4th, 2015 at 11:51 PM ^
That kid seems pretty damn bright, and I love to hear how passionate he is about working hard. I wouldn't be surprised if he starts at the 2nd tight end spot as good of a blocker
As he is. You never know about these things but TJ seems like the total package; smart, talented, althletic, physically imposing and a hard worker. Instantly my favorite Frosh!
February 4th, 2015 at 11:59 PM ^
Let him play TE, he will be a great blocker and a huge target for 3rd down conversions and red zone TDs! We may not even miss Clark!
February 5th, 2015 at 6:43 AM ^
Lol...

That haircut, the throwback hat, the blurry video ... I was getting Fab Five memories.
February 5th, 2015 at 12:08 AM ^
I'm excited about him considering Harbaugh couldn't stop talking about him in the presser.
February 5th, 2015 at 1:42 AM ^
WOAH
Where does one get a hat like that? That's a dope snapback.
February 5th, 2015 at 7:41 AM ^
as the video was loading I immediately wanted that hat lol.
February 4th, 2015 at 11:56 PM ^
Wow. That is the most articulate and self assured 17 year old I have ever heard.

Wheatley is going to be great. I'm glad he's with us. I'd take him over the other TE's Michigan was recruiting any day.
February 5th, 2015 at 12:00 AM ^
Thanks for posting. Man, that kid seems like the best possible son you could hope for. Very glad to have him and his dad in Ann Arbor.
February 5th, 2015 at 12:09 AM ^
Wow. He is an incredibly impressive kid. Love the constant eye contact with the guy he's talking to. Very respectful young man

What a nice kid, so glad he decided to go to Michigan.

i'm surrounded by high school kids.
That is one impressive young man
February 5th, 2015 at 12:42 AM ^
I don't know that there's any other player in this class im more excited for than this kid. A terrific physical specimen with a great head on his shoulders. This is the kind of player that represents what Michigan football is all about. He epitomizes the characteristics that Harbaugh has been known to recruit...

Check out the interview Reuben Jones does with Sam Webb. That guy is gonna be entertaining to watch. Probably one of the most enthusiastic recruits I've heard speak in a long time.
February 5th, 2015 at 1:07 AM ^
I've poked around a bit and can't seem to find that interview. You wouldn't happen to have a link would you? If so, thanks in advance.

Try wtka.com then under podcasts. Jones is funny.

Just listened to it and have to agree. Sounds like a confident kid who will bring some personality with him to A2. Loved what he was saying regarding OSU. Physically he kinda reminds me of Frank Clark when he first got on campus. He's got a bit more size though.
February 5th, 2015 at 1:15 AM ^
What a great young man. That is exactly what I pictured for Ty's kid.
February 5th, 2015 at 1:50 AM ^
I'd have no problem allowing this young man to date my daughter. (He might not consider it, due to the school she goes to... and yes. It's THAT school.)
Glad the young man will be in Blue!
February 5th, 2015 at 2:02 AM ^
If my kid goes to OSU, he/she is on his/her own financially lol.
February 5th, 2015 at 2:47 AM ^
We're already there, my Blue Brother! LOL
"You know that while I hope you do great, I will never root for your school to do well in anything."
She told me she wanted her school to lose the title game just because of what the idiot fans would do. She was even lab partners with one of the players.
I will rub her nose in Michigan victories, and congradulate her when her school wins.
Go Blue.
February 5th, 2015 at 4:51 AM ^
Proud that he chose UM. Some of the photos of him during his OV gave me the impression that he wasn't very enthused about things. But in this smiling, confident yet humble video portrayal he reminds me somewhat of Denard. I think we're going to enjoy this kid on and off the field.
February 5th, 2015 at 5:42 AM ^
Seems like a fantastic kid. He carries himself through an interview better than 95% of pro athletes!
February 5th, 2015 at 5:50 AM ^
Way more mature than I was at that age. Wow.
