Still have to decide for mine tomorrow. What's everybody drinking?
this may be of some local interest
From a keg just like momma used to make
Crappy, light keg beer with too much foam. And a bottle of Jim Beam or Jack Daniels in your other hand. Get a fifth; share it with friends, put the rest in your jeans and dump it into your Pepsi once you get in the stadium. That's usually my plan of attack. Or, alternately, buy a pint for the whole "illegally drinking in the stadium" part. Easier to sneak in. Though if you get caught- and my buddy did when they spotted a bulge under his sweatshirt- they kick you out. So...yeah. Maybe just the fifth and the cheap beer and don't drink during the game. Whiskey + Beer + Football = good times.
Coke this year.
And how come the traditional white plastic M cups have been changed to *transparent* Coke cups? Harder to disguise that I have a beer in my cup when I'm on the street. Grrr.
shaken, not stirred.
I just moved to Portland about a month ago and I have to say, Widmer is horribly overrated.
FTR, I'm not the one that negbanged you.
the brewery tour? Under the North end of the Fremont bridge; its free!
goose island 312 chicago wheat beer
goose island 312 chicago wheat beer
goose island 312 chicago wheat beer
The rare triple post. Was it for each beer?
Beast of course. What else would an upstanding U of M fan drink at a tailgate : )
Ice cold PBR
PBR me ASAP!!!!
Keg beer, jager, and red bull. The perfect trifecta of any successful pregame party.
Vodka and Red Bull, tall, with some lime!
Beer is number one but I also make a drink called Apple Pie where I boil 2qts apple juice, 1 gallon apple cider and 1 jar of cinnamon sticks for an hour and then after it cools I add one liter of Everclear (for those who don't know Everclear is 190 proof and I have to go to Indiana to buy it) But it is yummy for a little dessert after the hotdogs and brats!
Love the apple pie. My first time I tried it at a tailgate, I was 3 glasses in before I asked what was in it. Not surprisingly, 1st half kind of a blur.
where can we try some this good stuff??
We tailgate across from the DPS building. We are normally the only one across from them with Satelite TV.
Delicious...and deadly for those of us lacking the body mass to absorb it, but somehow that never stops me.
Southern Comfort and Mountain Dew...perfect way to start and end the day!!
80% Captain/20% Coke
Here's to The Captain!
Keep it local with either Bell's Oberon (in warmer weather, like now) or the aptly-named Wolverine Beer ($7.99/6-pack @ Busch's).
For colder games, toss in the occasional shot of Hot Damn Schnapps.
if I can find some, otherwise it's Yuengling.
When visiting my inlaws, we bring it back by the car full. If no Yuengling, I usually have to have a little Cap't. in me:
Cap't + diet + lime = happy girl.
Where can you get Yuengling? I've been jonesing for some Vitamin Y since I moved back to Michigan from Florida.
I'm in GR, Bell's stuff can be found just about anywhere. It's damn good though. Two-hearted is to die for.
nowhere around here; we usually have to truck it in ourselves. I'm not kidding you when I say that when returning from a visit to PA, the entire trunk of our car is filled with cases of the stuff. If God forbid we ever got rear-ended, we'd be swimming in Yuengling.
behind the bar of my wolverine shrine is stocked with Wolverine Beer. I wouldn't have it any other way. I have a game day party every week and some of the guests and closest friends don't care for it so I have to have other stuff to. After a victory we break open the handle of Captain.
If you get the right shot glass you can pour in some blue-colored vodka and top it off with Red Bull. Welcome to a "Big House Bomb."
I don't always drink beer, but when I do I prefer...Bud Light
Seriously, you can never go wrong showing up to a tailgate with a case...fun for all
No Beer because it makes me have to pee every 15 minutes... and there is nothing worse than having to piss while in Michigan Stadium during a close and stressful game.
So, it's Jameson on ice at the tailgate before the game, whatever I can get my hands on after the game
I try to live up to every Michigan stereotype possible. Mimosas until I can't feel my tongue, some Pinot, and once I'm too drunk to care, High Life until game time.
Crappy beer and Soco with lime.
Jack and ice, coke for color.
The last few years I've started out with Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, then switched off to whatever was there.
This year I had a Corona with Bacardi Limon added, which was good but only proves the point that the only way to make Corona decent is to add shit to it.
If you really wanna get really drunk
I had never considered that, but I +1 you because I like where your head's at. Get a bottle of Mad Dog and go to town. I may do this. . . tomorrow.
It's so easy to drink in the morning. or boons farm works also
2 1/2 oz spicy tomato juice
1 oz yellow pepper juice
garnish with lime, yellow pepper, celery
damn good drink with spicy food
Half-barrel of Blonde from the Corner Brewery. Gonna be a marathon kinda day.
Depends on the time of day. If it is a noon kickoff, I do Jager Mary's. Bloody Mary with Jager instead of the vodka. Sounds nasty, is very tasty.
After noon or so, I stick mostly with beer.
Favorite drink of A Clockwork Orange author Anthony Burgess.
Mix in a pint glass one shot each of gin, whiskey, rum, port and brandy. Fill the rest of the way with stout, then top with a splash of champagne. Very tasty.
Of this magical drink, Burgess supposedly wrote, "It tastes very smooth, induces a somewhat metaphysical elation, and rarely leaves a hangover."
I can confirm the metaphysical elation; however, the no hangover part is a total crock.
Well now instead of running with one glaringly outstanding idea, I'm going to want to spend my entire paycheck on booze tomorrow (and get someone to go to Indiana for apple pie drinks).
Probably end up with something delicious on the rocks to start, then go to beer. That should get me in prime shape for 3:30.
A good friend recently gave me a sweet gift: A 5L mini-keg of Paulaner Hefeweizen. I've been saving it. Tomorrow is the day!
Also... I posted this on a previous thread, but it's so tasty that I'm posting it again. I usually have a couple to start the day.
Chocolate Cake Shots:
- Equal parts Absolut Citron and Frangelico.
- Lemon slice dipped in powdered sugar (you can use granulated sugar, but I like powdered cuz it's smoother)
Drink a shot of the Citron/Frangelico mixture, then bite the sugar coated lemon. The resemblance to chocolate cake is uncanny.
I have two choices. I can go to the bar where the Alumni gather and drink Sierra Nevada or I can stay home and do some damage to the case of Sam Adams Cherry Wheat (made with Cherries from Traverse City, btw) that finally hit the shelves out here.
of MD 20/20
and a mini keg of Oberon
for the game
Oberon is awesome (captain obvious here).
WTF is the Mad Dog for? Seriously... I can't even imagine.
Mad Dog is only good for one thing. Drinking ice cold from a snow bank when you are sledding at a ski hill and the Boone's Farm is all gone.
And..+1 for bringing back that memory.
nothing better than fighting your way through a group of people around a keg
Oberon, and lots of it.
I don't drink anything for three days before attending a game. One time I had to go the the bathroom during a game a few years ago. Left midway in the first quarter, got back to my seat on Tuesday.
I learned my lesson. I'm not shelling out that kind of money to waste it waiting in line to take a leak.
Either that or I'll just piss my pants from now on.
In that case, it's gonna be Southern Comfort and Coke.
now I just drink lots of coffee and tea on gameday, which isn't the greatest of ideas because the game is exciting enough without having all that caffine pumping through you're body.
I literally watch the games standing.....at home.
Canadians. And a lot of them
A fine Canadian lager...
