Killian's Irish Red, basically, what was in the fridge.
Peppers at 10, which seems low.
Killian's Irish Red, basically, what was in the fridge.
I finished off the Killians in my fridge and tapped into a Goose Island sampler box. Have you ever had Goose Island's Oatmeal Stout? It knocked my socks off. It was as good as the Guinness that I drank at the Brewery in Dublin, and definitely better than the Guinness that can be acquired here.
with local Grand Traverse vodka. First time i've had it and it's not too shabby.
3 shots vodka, 3 shots Lemonade. Shaken with ice, split between the wife and I.
This is done two times.
While we watch Hoarders. Soon, we will watch L.A. Gang Wars documentary on NatGeo.
Daughters are sleeping... time to drink and learn.
EDIT: Found a Bell's Amber Ale in the fridge
Really anything Bell's is a great beer, nothing bad about that brewery.
used to be a bar outside DC called Dr. Dreamo's that had Bell's Amber Ale on tap. Nectar of the gods. NECTAR OF THE GODS
Dreamo's had a great beer selection on tap... and really really dirty couches.
... just doesn't get any better than this.
Like love in a bottle, and you get a little horsey to play with, too!
... I just discovered it a month ago... been a progression from Maker's to higher end whiskeys. I can't imagine it getting much better than this.
And I sampled every bourbon they could put in front of me. My two favorites by far were Booker's and Blanton's.
Now I'm going to read through the rest of the posts knowing none will top that.
#9...not quite pale ale. It pretty much makes everything better. Except the MSU/UM b-ball game I didnt know how to feel. Be pissed because we lost or be we only lost by one point to the number 5 team in the country. Fucking twilight zone.
With the way the game went and how Michigan sports have been lately I've had to drink my own tears of unfathomable sadness.
A pint of rosie with a skirt
Same to you with the mad dog. I have to say, however, I'd take a headache over that awful bum wine diarrhea.
Only one person is ever documented drinking the purple stuff. He was a little fat kid with glasses wearing a "No Fear" shirt. All of the more athletic kids got in front of him a drank the entire bottle of Sunny D. He was left with the purple stuff. He drank some... and was never seen again.
"Man, i'll take that purple stuff."
Sugar, Water, Purple!
Mmmmmm mmmmm, bitch!
Nothing hits the spot like an enormous glass of drink. You can throw in a little vodka to spice it up, but it is really just as good all by itself.
grape drink baby
Beer, beer and more beer. My wife is waiting for me to come home to have a "date", but the beer in front of me is equally enticing!
... at some point you'll have to make the decision... how many more beers can I have before I'm in trouble? I recommend drinking 4 more than that amount so the yelling doesn't even affect you.
If by "date" you mean going home to watch "50 first dates" with your wife... order another one.
If by "date" you mean "making sweet love" to your wife... go home.
are you at the bar drinking, just on your phone's internet or at the at a friends house. I am really hoping at a friends house, otherwise if it is "date night" i would not miss it.
Researching 6th cir. case law dealing with free speech in public schools...Woo.
I have some 7th circuit insight for you... but I will only share it if you start drinking. Legal research is boring... and not hard... you NEED to drink while doing it.
Just open one up... just one. then two...
HAVE YOU SEEN MY MOVIES!
And then beer after.
i am so jealous that you can mix beer and liquor, even mixing one beer and one drink will make me have a headache in the morning. And yes it sucks.
Because it's sterile, and I like the taste.
some creatine after my p90X workout
started with fat tire amber (not as good as bell's amber, duh), but i'm in new mexico, so i gotta work with what i got. ended up switching to bud for economic purposes. 18 people got laid off from our company today and it didn't include me - i was expecting it because i'm pretty much expendable - so i'm celebrating instead of drowning my sorrows. either way, i'm drinking the above
If you know about Bell's i am assuming you drink at least some micros. Are there any good local micros in New Mexico, or is it mostly domestics and imports?
I will drink with you to that, congrats on still having job (if this sounds dickish i don't mean it at all).
not a lot of great local micros, though Sierra Blanca Brewing Co. makes a pretty good one called Alien Amber Ale. however, i'm staying in Alamogordo so the selection isn't gonna be as good as what you could probably find in Albuquerque. otherwise, some grocery stores have a good number of micros from around the western US; my personal favorites are from Big Sky Brewing - Moosedrool, Scapegoat, etc. if you're just looking for local, i'm recommending Alien Amber.
A bell's winter ale to go along with some case law reading myself... I figure some beer might help me stretch the law to my fact pattern.
If you are drinking Bell's Third Coast Old Ale, i salute you as that is in my top 5 beers of all time.
Crown and coke zero (tryin to watch the cals)
Two Hearted Ale...and I live in South Carolina. Bell's is a top notch brewery.
EDIT: Anyone drinking a Bell's is getting a +1 from me. So I guess if you really need the points, you could lie.
I live in Kalamazoo MI, I love bell's however my family founded Arcadia Brewing Company so bell's is a rival but I enjoy all beer so I drink any beer with a good taste.
Welcome to the board
I too am drinking the Two Hearted, damn good stuff. I also discovered a few Oberon in my fridge. I think I'm going to save those for a later date.
Hunter S Thopmson Beer, Brewed by flying dog brew company, the names of the beer are Gonzo, and In Heat Wheat.
Something tells me he would not have endorsed that....unless it has some cocaine mixed in with a twist of LSD of course. Is it good?
It is fantastic the Gonzo is very dark and at 9.8% alchol it is very strong, the In Heat Wheat is light with a hint of cinnoman. Mind the spelling I have had a lot to drink I watched Michigan get screwed in hockey, then turned to espn classic and watched Kordell Stewart throw a damn touchdown.
It tastes like cigarettes & coffee
Imperial Porter. Very good if you like porters
haven't tried the other one
I'm not Flying Dog's biggest fan but I've always loved Steadman's artwork on the labels. Extraordinary work as usual.
My favorite brewery, favorite brew is horn dog.
A fifth of Seagrams 7 and coke. Putting an end to a very sad day. Had to witness a dear family friend bury her 3 year old daughter. I affectionately called her, my daughter, and my niece the Diva Crew. Now they are one short. If you have children, PLEASE do not take them for granted.
Maybe it's because I have two daughters, and the oldest is three; or maybe it's because I've been drinking... but that made me very very sad. I am getting another beer, and I hope you do too.
I raise an Irish glass to a friend in need... and a friend who would raise a glass for me!
I'm so sorry for being the buzz kill, but I felt that I had to explain myself for being such a lush tonight.
So sorry for your loss. No doubt, a horribly tough day for you.
I am sorry for your and your friends lose. Not a father but have been to three teenage funerals and it is the hardest thing i have ever encountered.
I'm so sorry. To lose a niece (especially one you affectionately called you daughter) is a pain I would not wish on anyone. I've had...shit man..I can't even think about it, let alone type it.
my heart goes out to your family and especially your daughter.
+1 to you. IMO, Tang is very under-appreciated. And no, I'm not talking about the orange drink for all you young bucks out there!
Yeah I'm poor
Ain't no shame in that! Try as I might, I'm trying to get myself in shape, but completely cutting out the alkie just doesn't gel with me, so this is what I drink when I'm downing the suds.
The same shit I drink every night....Kamchatka...does a body good.
Been trying to expand my beer choices lately past the usual (bud, miller, etc.). Just finished a few nice, cold Red Stripes. Ya mon!
I picked up some old beer from Beer Depot in Ann Arbor. A 6 pack for like $5. It was seasonal. The season was summer though.
Sky High Rye
pretty damn good, if I do say so myself!
Has anyone tried it? I'm a big fan of most of Bell's brews, especially the best brown ale and two hearted ale, but the winter ale tastes like a heaping mound of ass.
I think it's a pretty good wheat ale. You might have had a skunked batch if you normally like that style of beer.
I've tried it. I thought it was okay for witbier, but nothing special. I had a Short's Good Humans and Kuhnhenn Fourth Dementia tonight, both awesome Michigan brews. I recommend both if anyone hasn't tried either brewery.
Does Kuhnhenn distribute now? I've been to the brewery once. Wanted to try either their Raspberry Eisbock or their Bourbon Barrel Barley Wine but neither was in season.
With Shorts, Founders, and Bells here in West Michigan (and locally distributed), I haven't felt the need to get back.
FYI, here's a good site for you.
I think Kuhnhenn is only distributed to a few places around metro Detroit. Even if not available at the brewery, you can usually find the Raspberry Eisbock at Champane's in Warren and Holiday Market or Cloverleaf in Royal Oak. I've never seen the Bourbon Barrel Barley Wine in stores, I think it is a once a year special release at the brewery.
http://www.beeradvocate.com is the beer website I'm more used to using, but both are great.
Drinking the last of the Bell's Christmas Ale. Sigh.
Chivas & water.
Tonight was Smutty Nose Brown Ale. Not bad.
orange fanta mixed with some kamchatka and a few cans of miller lite and busch lite all the good cheap college stuff
Gin, mixed with gin and more gin.
but ive been drinking Four Lokos and fortunate enough to be awake to receive my hangover.
I had an excellent afternoon with my wife at the Stone brewery in Escondido, CA. After an Oaked Arrogant Bastard and a Ruination IPA with lunch, I left with a growler of Double Bastard which a friend and I tried hard to kill... and I was still able to bring some home for tomorrow. Good day.
We cracked open a fifth of Hangar One mandrin vodka last night. We ( wife and I) drank the whole damn thing while playing Wii sports. Great vodka, never had a hangover from it.
Coffee, with hazelnut creamer.
A night of Sailor Jerry's Rum 'n Coke. Not driving to the bar, or home, so I overdid it a bit (as usual. Wow do I love not not having a car *wink wink)
Anyhow, on the way home, we make the Taco Bell stop, and I get a brainstorm: Those 89-cent burritos that Denice sells would make great meals for a guy on the go (and too lazy to cook much of the time).
So, I get TWENTY of them. And yes, my buddies are laughing at me the whole time. So are the people at Taco Bell. But do I care? Nope. I'm the smart one. Being economical. Taking time into consideration. I have to get up way early for work--so the warmed up burrito, eaten in car while drinking coffee a coke, smoking a cigarette and calling my boss to tell him I'll be late again WORKS!
Trouble is, I don't have nearly enough freezer space. The damn thing is full of the food I buy--and am too lazy to cook.
Looks like me and the kid will be eating burritos all weekend.
It's too mushy, no texture whatsoever. The one I had was 1/4 sour cream, 1/4 nacho cheese, a little beef, and a shit load of refried beans. Now, while that may sound appetizing to some, trust me, it's not. Not to say that no one should/would like it, everyone has different tastes. Just not for me.
But I'm concerned with only one thing: Not getting the hunger shakes at 10:00 in the morning.
AND sleeping an extra 11 minutes every morning.
I guess that's two things.
Stone IPA, La Fin de Munde, & a bottle of DFH 120 minute. Don't think im going to get into the 120 minute tonight, but if I do...
I tried this and was not disappointed. Still haven't found Bell's Hopslam locally (Big Rapids).
PBR because I am poor right now and I prefer it out of all the cheap beers. When I have money I generally stick to the Founders stuff. Dirty Bastard and Centennial IPA are my faves.
sippin on a 12 year old scotch. Mighty tasty.
switching over to Woodford, a celebratory toast to Mr. Shegos.
Good ole 'murikan Budweiser...and a 40 at that.
Drank Smithwicks last night, but I only had a little over 3 bucks in cash tonight and didn't feel like divin into the debit card so I went with the 40 tonight. Yeah, I"m a poor, recently graduated guy lookin for a job in da UP (dat's nort' of da bridge, and a little sout' of heaven, for you that don't know). Girlfriend wants to go to NMU, so it looks like my time in Ann Arbor is over (I'm gonna try to make it back down for the MSU game).
