What will it take for you to renew your season tickets?

Submitted by A2MIKE on

I have season tickets in section 2.  It's funny, if the team hadn't been so abysmal over the last 7 years, I probably would have tickets in the endzone, but in 7 short years I have moved from section 12 at the top, to section 2 row 20.  Anyway, my question is what will it take for you to renew your season tickets?  I was really on the fence going into this year, because the PSD is so high, StubHub offers better options as far as purchasing good seats to the games you want to attend.  I have 2 kids and my wife, as well as my parents that all like to go, but we can't go to every game and now without change to both the AD and the Head Coach, I can definitively say that I will not be renewing next year.  I have spent literally my entire life at Michigan Stadium on fall Saturdays.  I was at the 95 Purdue game, it was my 12th birthday and I stayed until the end.  I was at 08 Northwestern.  I have been to every edition of "The Game" for 20+ years, since 93.  I am 31, and I have been to 21 Michigan - Ohio State games, but I don't know if I will go this year.  I am defeated.  The only thing that can change that is a full cleansing of the hierarchy starting with Mr Domino's.  And I don't want to hear any more "Michigan Man" crap.  I didn't graduate from Michigan, but I donate what I consider to be a hefty amount and I still feel alienated by the whole "Michigan Man" thing.  I hate it, and if that gets used as a criteria for the next coach, I am out, for good.  End of rant.

We've had 4 tickets since the mid 70's.  I paid to have them transferred from my dad to me about 10 years ago.

If Hoke is still here there is no way in hell I will renew.  What he did to Morris today was so disgraceful that I don't think he should ever coach another game at Michigan.

If Brandon is still AD most likely I will not renew but I can't say that for certain depending on what happens.

If you are season ticket holder and especially if you are working your way up the PSD ladder, there are actually a benefit even in a down year.

1. You get each year a chance to answer a survey from the athletic department about what you liked and didn't like about the experience.

2. Take the opportunity to calmly express your concerns with the direction that the Athletic Department has taken.

Maybe! FUCK this entire administration and staff. Every childhood memory that I've ever had in those seats is GONE.

To me, Michigan Football doesn't EXIST anymore.

Right now: nothing.

I can live with the team being bad. I can live with RAWK. I can hold my nose at the BWW-sponsored halftime show at the home opener.  I can even live with some reasonable discounting, like the groupon deal for the first few games.

But, giving away tickets with a couple of bottles of coke just to keep the 100K streak alive was a slap in the face to anyone who bought tickets this year--including the students.  My tickets are end zone with the faculty/staff discount, so about as cheap as they get.  I'm still paying north of $70/game with PSD, and can usually only attend about half of them due to conflicts, work travel, etc.  For example, yesterday we went to the Pioneer @ Skyline game instead, because my son is in the band and my daughter's team was working concessions.

I'll still go to some games, as it's been a tradition to attend them with my kids since they were very little.  They've got a few more years before they graduate and go on to their own college experiences.
