Great point. Hopefully the coaches are preparing for Bama. Although I also wouldn't mind if Harbuagh wanted to send Col and Va tech some tips.

Also, think there is some differences on whether school is in session or not on how much time the players can spend each week.
Now for the coaches, they are probably out recruiting with some staff members doing some initial tape breakdown of Bama, Clemson, Wash, FSU, USC, and Virginia Tech.

It's a common misconception that there is a set number of bowl practices. They can continue practicing with the usual 20 hour per week rules. Once finals are done, then that goes away.
Clemson actually got a waiver for extra practice time last year because they had a different academic calender than Bama.

They can't practice until they are selected.

I assume this is only the case for bowl-eligible teams?
What about the 5-7 teams that might get picked because of their high APR?

Bowl Practices are YUGELY important, especially when helmed by Harbaugh's coaching acumen. So much improvement takes place. Sets up team for not only competing in bowl game but developing next year's starters for coming Spring Practices. Guys like Onwenu, Crawford, L. Hill, D. Long, S. McKeon, K. Hudson, D. Bush, C. Kemp, R. Johnson will benefit immensely.

in a bowl are allowed 15 practices.

Spring practice is limited to 15 practice dates; perhaps that is where you get your mistaken idea here. There is absolutely no limitation for the number of practices in the interval between the end of the regular season and the bowl game, other than the usual "6 days per week" rule.

At least that's what I'm aiming for. I found a practice facility about 40 minutes from my house that has heated tees with a sheltering wall to the north. Plus they have simulator bays indoors that I'll use once in a while to check on my ball flight and distance.
Wait, you are talking about our offseason golf practice, right?
