You guys are really harshing my Hokeamania.

EDIT: Do not let the OP fool you. He wrote a long post about OSU whiffing on Urban and hiring Dantonio. It had nothing to do with Michigan. He also wrote the post like he was making some genius new prediction about Dantonio to OSU. Fantastic stuff.

I'll tell a joke.  Q: What do you call a University of South Carolina offensive lineman?

A: A Cock Blocker.

I hope that has lightened the mood here.  Lame joke I am well aware BTW.  Back to your normal programming.

I think everyone is wrong. Clearly, the OP is channeling his inner late romantic, "Who, if I cried out, would hear me among the angels' hierarchies?"

Oh, to be a hundred years old again!

They're a B1G school in our division that we have a trophy game with that seems to be doing pretty well this year in a year when many other B1G schools seem to be having down years. They look like they might be have the best football team in our division right now and are favored to win it. Although they have a history of choking down the stretch, they did manage to go 11-1 last year, and have beat very good Wisconsin teams both this year and last year, this time in a rather thrilling fashion for them. They are particularly good at defense, as they have found ways to make every school that they've played look rather incompetent on offense. We have also lost to them the last four years in a time that Michigan was going through a crisis of identity and transition. They compete for many of the same recruits that we do, so their success is somewhat worrying. We are still out-recruiting them in spite of their recent success, but their recent domination of this rivalry is not a good thing for Michigan.

Our players and coaches need to do a better job so that we can beat them next year in The Big House.

Whether you like it or not, MSU is a rival, and they are getting the best of it lately.  Being in denial won't change things.  Also, MSU's success and Michigan's success are close to having a zero sum relationship.  I look forward to the days when Michgan squashes Sparty like a bug again, but those days aren't back yet.

Consequently, discussing Sparty is quite relevant on a Michigan list, especially when they have proven to be world class braggarts.  Hopefully, soon, MSU will be as irrelevant in Michgian as they are nationally.  Until then, they are worth discussing.

Denial or no denial.

Jesus, some Michigan fans make all of us look bad. Don't hate on Sparty now, just let them be. By hating on them, vocally rooting against them, etc. you are just like Sparty when they are getting smoked by Michigan year in year out.

in the Bo division.

That's something to root for, be it Sparty, Nebraska, or Iowa.

Nebraska & Iowa still control their own destiny.  We don't.

Replace "Michigan State" w/ "Team one game ahead of us owing the head-to-head tiebreaker", and I'd surely root against them out of our own self-interest.

I like this thread! I'm tired of worrying about everyone else. Your right, we still need to win some more games before we can worry about all that other stuff.
