  • Jack Miller vs. Washington/Pimpkins
  • Devin Gardner taking over and being THE man(QB is 100% his let's see how he handles that.)
  • O-Line, would like us to find the best 5 now, so they can begin meshing together and get comfortable with each other and really come together in fall camp.
  • Defensive Line Rotation(where is everyone practicing at Mattison likes to rotate)
  • Pass Rush- we need a guy I think Clark can do it, but we need Mario to take a step up this year
  • Chesson/Darboh Battle
  • Middle Linebacker Battle
  • right guard/right tackle Battle

Where is Countess, Wormly, Bryant in their rehabilitation??

This will be a great spring I can't wait to see how some of the battles work out. It's going to be a helluva time for these boys.

More than anything, I'd like to see how the fresh blood on the O-line perform. In particular, I'd like to see how Miller plays. We have an AA tackle and wherever Schoefield plays we'll be above-average at that position. I think Kalis will be more than servicable. If Miller comes in and is even average at Center our line will be one of the best in the conference I think. We have talent at RB, our line just needs to open up holes for them.

Outside of that I'd also like to see if Chesson or Darboh can be a legitimate threat at WR, if Dymonte can come in and see quality playing time in the secondary, and if we can develop a pass rush.

• Pipkins being impregnable after the snap

• A RB being unstoppable after the handoff

• A WR being uncatchable after the pass

• Everybody healthy after the final gun

  1. Health. I want to see Chris Wormley and Chris Bryant out there and giving quotes about how they're 100% and Fitz Toussaint way ahead of schedule but being held out just as a cautionary thing and expected to participate in fall.
  2. Enough OL for two squads. At tackle Schofield, Lewan, Braden and Magnuson plus LTT make five. But if Bryant isn't ready to go it's Burzynksi, Bars, Kalis, Bosch and Miller--five guys for six interior OL spots. If they're playing Burzynski at center as I suspect it seems we're short at least one or two guards for a full scrimmage, and that's expecting them all to stay hale for all of spring practice. Lack of healthy o-linemen has sunk a spring game before.
  3.  Depth and competition.

no joke its hoke

things i'm looking forward to is: the freshmen stepping up. we need Jake Butt,Taco,Thomas and the redshirt freshmen like Wormley, and Henery to show some things. btw,i'm not reading much into the running game cause nobody running the ball in spring will probably even see the field come fall.

don't understand the poor showing for the past 30 years.  What an opportunity to practice tailgating and watch some football.

I'm not overly concerned about Gardner and I'm farily confident one of our RBs will get the job done, it's just a matter of which one.  I also think we have enough offense returning with Gallon, Dileo, and Funchess.  We really only need one reciever to step up because Devin can use his feet and I think Funchess will be real good so I'm not overly concerned about that...we have enough tools to move the offense if there are holes and protection.  Plus what great defenses will we play?  OSU is the only one that comes to mind.  I'm not worried about youth at LB, they will be fine and/or good.  I'm not worried about our interior d-line because I like Wash & Pip.  The main things I like to see are:

1. The offensive line be productive.  I'm confident in Lewan, Kalis, and Schofield.  I'm mostly concerned with center.

2. Countess be healthy.  If he's 100% our corners will be fine.

3. Wilson be effective.  Kovacs being gone leaves a big hole.  Wilson is a step up in terms of athleticism and speed, but he needs to not blow coverage.  I'm not looking for a major playmaker, just no blown coverages or big plays.

4. A pass rush from the DE, which I beleive has to come from Ojemudia so hopefully he's put on weight or Charlton is college ready because I'm not confident in the other DEs pass rushing ability.

5. No injuries.  Any major injury to any of the starting positions immediately puts us in a bad spot because we don't have a ton of proven depth.  Our depth is either true freshman or guys that have never played.

6. Where will our defensive playmaking come from?  We know Ryan will make plays, but who else will cause turnovers?  Can Countess, Taylor, Gordon, Wilson, Ross, Bolden, or a DE cause turnovers?  Our decreased turnover margin was a big problem last year and we need to turn that around again.

a reel spring game.   I am tired of the scrimmage type games.  but i no it will not happen.  also wont too see the offense have some fun and score plenty of points.

Spring practice i want to see good protection by OL, establish a Running game, establish some TE plays and develop some good receivers.. In other words offense offense offense
