I want to see our Offensive line busting their asses. I want these kids to show me that they're gonna maul the FUCK outta the rest of the B1G. We're gonna go as far as the OLine takes us, at least in my humble epinion.
It would be nice to see all the starters on the line determined in the spring. Last year's (ostensibly) last minute shuffle between Barnum and Mealer didn't turn out so well. Would be nice to see an improvement from the pass catchers in some form. I think we know what we have with Dileo (decent to sneaky good) and Gallon (very good), but having either Funchess as a consistent threat or Darboh as an emerging contributor would be nice. I also irrationally think Taco will be a contributor this year with 4-5 sacks.
Disclaimer: I do not actually believe Taco will get 5 sacks. But I think he has a great future.
gets 5 sacks I will mail you $5...buck-a-sack
I think he will be good and I love the optimism but I dont see it happening either.
Anybody else think immediately of Taco Pants?? I assumed maybe he went by only one name as a defensive player.
I'm going to start using the phrase "maul the FUCK outta..." a lot more.
Well done, sir. Well done indeed.
Argo maul the f*ck outta yourself!
Branch went all MTFO on him...
Agreed! Both that
a) "Mauling the FUCK outta" needs to make more appearances in our everyday lexicon and
b) If our revamped interior O-Line doesn't do some of said "Mauling the FUCK outta" we're in the proverbial deep ka-ka this fall.
to show "you"? You are not going to get that insight from spring practice.
needs to work on finishing at the rim.
Oh wait, that Spring practice.
and Burke needs to become more consistant hitting that long fade away 3.
2. Improvement at QB
3. Identify a consistent pass rush
4. Replace Kovas' leadership and "coach on the field" mentality
5. Figure out the OL situation
A brand new Red Shirt on Devin Gardner. It will be a little small and out of style since it was from 2 years ago.
I want to see if Bellomy has addvanced enough to become a dependable #2 QB so we don't have to burn Shane's red shirt if/when Devin gets a little banged up.
Curious to see how the interior of our defensive line comes together with Washington and Pipkins. Strobel/Wormley also need to step up on the outsdies. Other than that, I'd be curious to see how Countess comes back and also the interior of our offensive line. Kalis, Braden, Bryant and Miller, notably.
Will Countess be back in time for spring ball?
NO INJURIES!!
THIS^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I would like to see an actual game, or at least something that resembles that. Maybe we'll have the depth this year for it.
The offensive line needs to improve, somebody besides Gallon needs to step up, and it will be interesting to see how the defensive backfield performs (minus Kovacs, plus Countess).
I'm really expecting that at least one steps into the light this year.
Both look "tremendous" and have had "outstanding off-seasons." #Insider
Not sure if serious... are srs?
But Hoke will say those words soon about these players.
I haven't heard much about Chesson. Darboh is a big, possession-type guy who has made several nice catches in practices and 7-on-7's.
Just checking for an update...
is he back for spring?
He's running. I'm not sure if he'll be able to do contact or not.
or do you know he's running by looking at some highlight tape. You are 4 states removed for God's sake - if your computer broke you would be clueless
Is Countess fully healed and cleared to practice? If, yes, then woo.
I was just going to say good interior offensive line play. That, and solid improvement out of Pipkins.
regularly connecting to receivers other than Gallon and Funchess...replacing Kovacs will be tough
with his legs and see Toussaint do anything at all. Apparently Toussaint is back to running, but I don't know how much progress you can possibly make in four months from an injury like that.
I don't know much about torn ACL's, but I'd be surprised if we saw Countess do much, if anything. He's probably going to be participating in some form of team drills just to stay fresh, probably a lot of conditioning, but not much more than that.
They don't want to risk him getting injured again, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if we don't see much of him until fall camp.
Awesome was probably ambitious, maybe seeing him in pads would be more realistic to hope. It will have been seven months, though, he'll probably be doing something.
I want to see either/both Darboh or Chesson blow the fuck up in the vertical passing game
It will be interesting to see how the carries get divided up. I'm also anxious to see how some of the younger WR's look.
A draw on third and long with Vincent Smith.
But I'm really eager to see us line up in the I on 1st and goal from the 1 and run Smith up the gut for a 2 yard loss. That and the ISO with him are my favorite "Manball" plays that never work.
Two-minute highlight videos from terrible angles, preferably quite zoomed in, with voice-over interviews with seniors talking about toughness and focus and The Team.
I thought the question was what do you want, not, what will you get?
(Yes, I get it)
Offense:
1. a second and third receiver need to emerge behind Gallon. This could be a tight end, but the offense would really need to feature that tight end.
2. a consistent running game that gets us in great 2nd down situations and can convert short yardage 3rd downs consistently.
Defense:
1. Pressure on the QB. QB's facing UM should know they have very little time to make a decision. I would like to see the pass rush become much more effective.
2. Coverage sacks. When the pass rush breaks down, it would be nice if that didn't matter because everyone was blanketed, thanks.
If all of these things happens it would be pretty hard for us to lose any game. Expectations of the program and position, so I concurr 100% with this post
I'd also like to see it not rain.
and 65 degrees would be nice.
Enough healthy bodies for an honest-to-goodness, intrasquad scrimmage, with a draft and everything.
team holding up a National Championship trophy at the spring game.
I want to see a between-the-guards running game. I'd also like to still see some read option plays to show that we aren't completely moving toward MANBALL.
I'd like to see Chesson and Darboh step up and make some plays.
I'd like to see Gardner complete >70% of his passes. (It's a glorified practice, so I don't think it's unreasonable for expectations to be higher than game-time expectations)
I want to see good coverage by the secondary, only to be bested by good plays by the receivers.
No missed tackles.
I really want to see our OL kick but, open huge holes and not allow sacks. I'm also going to be looking for our DL to step up and cut off running lanes and am really looking for a great pass rush on every passing down. The WR really need to develop their route running to create seperation. I also hope the defensive backfield looks good and does not allow any seperation on their receivers, or completed passes. I want to see some play-making INTs out of the DBs. I'm going to be looking for the QBs to step up the accuracy, see a lot of completed passes, as well as cut down on poor decisions and INTs. I also want our RBs to break into open field, but I want our LBs to stick every RB in the hole.
That pretty much sums everything up correct?
