PBR, cheap college student here. I can't wait to see some football.
Tennessee is not recruiting well just because they got 18 dudes
PBR, cheap college student here. I can't wait to see some football.
love your choice, as I for one am a broke college student as well!
I'm not that into Vandy-SC, but I can't wait to watch Leach's concoction at 10:15pm.
HELL YES BOOZE
I think I might open up a bottle of 18-year Laphroaig that one of my best friends gave me for my wedding.
And I love me some 10 year Laphroaig. If I want smokey single malt, my go-to is now Ardmore, so long as I can find it.
I have always wanted to try that but haven't gotten around to it. If I do go with scotch this weekend it'll likely be a ten year old Glenmorangie, likely as a victory dram. For watching football I will be celebrating the arrival of Fat Tire to Michigan.
Review: The 18 year Laphroaig is simultaneously the peatiest and the smoothest whisky I have ever tasted.
Definately the tastiest scotch I've ever owned, though I have an unopened bottle of 17 year Glengoyne also from my wedding so I will need to try that soon.
Aaaaaaand that's what I get for trying to post this from a smart phone.
Blazefire, you're local, right? So where did you find Midas Touch for $9.99?
Temperance, MI, just over the border from Toledo. Midas Touch for $9.99 at Food Town at Lewis ave and Temperance Rd.
Good to see another MT fan!
I bought a 6 of Avery Karma this afternoon, I will probably drink a couple tonight and the rest on Saturday. Details...
Beer Style: Belgian Pale Ale
Hop Variety: Sterling
Malt Variety: Two-row barley, Special B, Cara-45, Aromatic, Acidulated
OG: 1.048 ABV: 5.4% IBUs: 10 Color:Amber
I'll be drinking a light ale I made. If things god bad....well I might switch to something a bit more potent..
Milk Stout Nitro. Gonna take Vandy and the points tonight....
Dortmunder Gold is the usual go-to on any type of sporting event so that along with some Two-Hearted leads to a good night.
I started too early. Those things are tad too strong.
a steady dose of homework tonight. I have to get it finished up so that I don't have to worry about it on Saturday when I can watch football all day. I might have to put the games on in the background though.
Gatorade. Maize and Blue gatorade mixed.
But doesn't that make green gatorade?
BLUE GATORADE AND VEGETABLE OIL
I'll be at a wedding reception this Saturday, unfortunately, and drinking Champagne to toast the bride and groom. At least the reception starts an hour before kickoff. I've already checked with the bar at this particular club, and they'll have at least one TV tuned into the game. And the country club is only 5 minutes from home, so I should be able to leave, take off my suit, see the whole second half in comfort. I think I'll be driving alone and have my wife take a separate car.
New Belgium! Either the Trippel or Red Hoptoberfest. Excited they are in Michigan. Anyone been able to find Sam Adams Fat Jack? Both times I've been to Holiday Market they are sold out.
It's New Belgium's Ranger IPA for me. Finally in Michigan and I love the 22 oz bottles.
Ashley's serves the 22oz bottles, which is great!
Trippel is amazing, I love "Buzz in a bottle".
Just about to crack my first Fat Tire. Grabbed a Red Hop as well.
Also going for a couple Red Hoptobers. Six pack was on sale for $9, which isn't really that bad in DC, sadly.
Hacker Pschorr Oktoberfest and Laguintas Hop Stoopid. Just picked up a case of Oktoberfest - Prost!
Currently knocking back a heineken while sitting in the Minnesota airport waiting for my connecting flight to dallas.
Having 4 of my roommates bud light tall boys before going to the central game.
Midas Touch tastes like mushrooms, PS.
That's one thing I DEFINITELY do not taste in there.
with a pckled bean and a pepperoncini fully submerged.
Ichabod from New Holland Brewery. Such a good pumpkin ale.
Agreed...the only one I'll touch. Great balance.
So I can only assume Spotted Cow or other delights from New Glarus.
Spotted Cow is a tourist beer, If you have to drink New Glarus drink their IIPA or Uff-da Bock (if they still make it). I'd sooner drink anything from Milwaukee Brewing Co. or Lakefront Brewing Co. than anything from New Glarus.
Dogfish head variety 12-pack (not all to be consumed tonight) or some Ommegang Three Philosophers once my roller hockey game finishes up. So goddamn excited for some football!
Ommegang does not get nearly enough love in these drinking threads. Cheers to you my good man. As for me, I shall be enjoying Bell's Kalamazoo stout and possibly some Centennial IPA from Founder's.
I'm starting with a 22oz bottle of Southern Tier PumKING. After that, it's a selection of various other pumpkin brews. I love this time of year. Probably end it with a 22oz bottle Shipyard Smashed Pumpkin.
I love World of Beer Altamonte Springs and World of Beer Orlando !!!
the tears of happiness streaming down my face
They are playng Hoke's Alma Mater.
New Belgium 1554 Enlightened Black Ale.
Now if someone wants to brew up some 1997 Enlightened Maize and Blue Lager (some sort of late summer or fall seasonal with a touch of blueberry, maybe) or some such, I'd be all over that... As long as it's not Wild Blue. That crap is, well, crap. I've had some quality berry craft brews and they're awesome when done well.
...last night. I got a bottle of Consecrator DoppleBock that might be going down tonight.
Shorts Soft Parade in the fridge. I'm going to enjoy it.
I'll be drinking homebrew now, but the real question is what will I be drinking mid-season. I'm teaching a Bama fan to brew. Since we'll be brewing the next several batches together we've got a bet going. Loser buys custom bottle caps. We'll be drinking either M Go Brew or Bama Brew.
old rasputin russian imperial stout
For bama it is Lindemans Kriek and jager bombs.
For tonight, 3 olives cake vodka and pineapple soda
For tomorrow blueberry cider(GO BSU?). I really should root for the B1G but alas, read too many spartan trolls this offseason.
Kalamazoo urban assault by paw paw brewing and eating wings at Buffalo barbeque wings in Jackson. It's pretty much a bdubs knock off.
I'll be at KOK it's a bar in Bloomington. It's 3 dollar Thursday and I get a shirt. I'm about to get wasted.
-Midas Touch is very good
Let me be not the first to say.
screw them and their Roll Damn Tide
That is all.
I'm working a late shift, BUT I had a New Belgium Red Hoptober for lunch. De - wait for it - licious.
Just tried that tonight. Glad New Belgium is finally available in Mich.
but whatever i choose, there will be lots.
Though it is not yet September, I just bought a sixer each of Spaten, Hofbrau, and Hacker-Pschorr. Sweet Munich oblivion.
One of my faces. It's a close 2nd to Ayinger.
Technically Ayinger isn't a Munich beer in that it isn't brewed within the city limits (Spaten, Lowenbrau, Hofbrau, Hackerpschorr, Augustiner and Paulaner). We did enjoy Ayinger @ Wirsthaus Munich across from Hofbrauhaus.
Drinking a Flying Dog SingleHop Chinook IPA after crabcakes and softshell crab (on the company, recruiting dinner) washed down with a couple of chardonays. ABV is 10% on the Flying Dog.
Ok, like more hop.
getting it on with Stone IPA with a couple shots of 10 Cane Rum.
coffee... gotta stay up to see Mike Leach debut.
Stoney Brook Red - nice sour ale.
The barrel room stuff is pretty good
I have a mix of Hoegaarden and Leffe in the fridge. I shall be alternating between them so I don't get bored.
I spend way more time on Reddit than here. Mostly stalking for the last few years :) I keep wanting to Up Vote all these good beer selections.
I plan to crack open some Hams Light in the mid morning and kill the 24 pack of it
EDIT: Oops, I was thinking we were talking about Saturday for some reason. As for tonight, I am drinking some Miller High Life Light
Long Trail Pumpkin Ale.
Odell IPA for me tonight. My favorite of the IPA variety.
Yuengling Octoberfest...weekend starts early because of the Baltimore Grand Prix
GO BLUE BEAT BAMA
In celebration of college football kicking off tonight I've decided to clean the bong. Shots of really old bong water and PBR are whats going down at my shack.
All Day IPA today is the choice.
I'm stuck working.
Black and Tan.
Because I hear it's manly.
Weihenstephaner, from the worlds oldest brewery apparently.
I could be drinking Keystone for all I care. As long as footballs back.
Is the most offensive shit I've ever tried.
Tonight I'm drinking Breckenridge 471 IPA. It's pretty decent.
But probably just two. Need to workout and get a few things done first.
Thinking about a mix of Texas and Michigan beer for the big game on Sat. Can't wait.
Cashed a bottle of 2 buck Chuck over dinner I made for the mother-in-law, as she picked the kids up for the weekend. Now cleaning out some scraps from the fridge which includes some Arcadia Loch Down Scotch Ale (it will knock you down after a couple), Bell's Solsun (no, it's actually Oberon, but I'm old), and some #9.
I'm hoping I can still get up and start calling Delta at 4:25am, to try and get on earlier flights to Dallas, as I don't want to wait until our 7:30pm flight.
Founder's Dirty Bastard for me.
Fat Tire. Lol
Short's Pandemonium Pale Ale for now. I might switch to something harder in a bit, but I have to get up at 6:00 for work, so we'll see if that happens.
the King, as always..
Starting out with a local scotch ale from Tyrannena Brewery called Rocky's Revenge and then finishing the night by sipping a Laphroaig.....at least that is what I wish. Just drinking whatever drain cleaner I can find in the back of the cabinet and saving my coin for an awesome day on Saturday.
Jack and Ginger. Switching to Yuengling next.
Have a few left over, then I'll start on the case I picked up tonight....Troegs Perpetual IPA. I've never had it before but I'm a big fan of the other Troegs brews that I've tried.
Abita Seasonal Red Ale first. Followed by a Point 2012 Black Ale. Might break into some of my own after that.
Fulton: Sweet Child of Vine
Sam Adams Octoberfest on special for $3 so had one of those with dinner and will probably crack a Lagunitas New Dogtown Pale in a bit while watching this game and working on this stupid brief.
P.S. I'm hoping that New Belgium coming to Michigan open's the proverbial door for other breweries from Colorado (<cough> Oskar Blues <cough>) to come in as well, but frankly the beer from New Belgium bores the hell out of me. Ranger is a nice IPA for the summer months, but I can take or leave the rest of it (and I'll leave the Fat Tire).
Banyan Brown Ale while enjoying ribs and pulled pork at Happy Pig Cafe.
Many many coors light
Beware of Gatorade's Lime Cucumber flavor. It's the most god awful thing I've ever tasted.
