I got ripped on for drinking Shock Top last night, so I'll keep it to myself that I'm drinking it again this evening.

I agree it's not the best, but it's drinkable and I got it at a good price. The girlfriend really likes their Raspberry Wheat, but I think the Shandy is better than that, at least.

Only Anejo
because I'm mixing.
September 7th, 2012 at 6:19 PM ^
Anejo is easily the best kind of tequila. I'll do resposado too, but will only drink silver when I don't have a choice. And as a guy who married into a Latin family, I often don't have a choice about these things. Luckily, they know their tequila.

Agree about the tequila. The above photo is a great rum from the Dominican Republic. It is very smooth, and sweet from the molasses. If you have a chance to try it, try it neat or with a splash of fresh lime juice. It's delicious.

Oh OK, I saw the Anejo and assumed it was tequila. I like rum, so I'll have to give it a try. We usually drink Ron Zacapa, mostly because it's from Guatemala (where her family is from).

Great thing about aging in the Carribean is it takes like a third the time to get the same complexities you get from aging in the Irish and Scottish climate. You can get 12-15 years of aging results in Puerto Plata in about 3-4 years. They spice theirs by reusing spent Jack Daniels casks. They've had an agreement since around the American Civil War to do so, but only starting exporting about 10years ago. My brother in law went to school with the Brugalis, otherwise I wouldn't know anything about it, lol.

I was drinking the Hacker-Pschorr Weisse last night, but the six pack was given to me. Tried to buy more tonight since I really liked it, but couldn't find it at the only two stores around that sell nicer brews. Where did you get yours at?

I'm about to toast my nine year old daughter who, while wearing her brother's hand-me-down Manningham jersey, threw perfect spirals in flag football practice. She also asked for receiver gloves, not to be a better receiver but to protect her nails from breaking. I think that deserves a Shirley Temple (with a shot of whatever we have in the house for me).

Pale Ale homebrew that used a Pilsner style malt. Very good but running out fast. I need ideas for a brew for the fall season...

Gotta brew a season ahead. IPA is always in season, so brew that. X-Mas Ale would be good for the bowl season.

For the MGoTimeSaver:
- Set up to DVR the game
- Start watching the DVR around halftime of the live game
- By the time you've watched the DVR and are caught up to live TV, you should be around a third the way into the 4th quarter
- Enjoy watching the last portion of the game live like everyone else while having saved almost an hour and a half of your life's worth of commercials
