What are you doing tomorrow from a.m - 8pm to waste away the time until kickoff?

Submitted by jtmc33 on

I will be at Disney on ice from 11:30am - 2:30pm ct.   (before anyone asks, yes, I have two young daughters aged 5 and 2).

Although I will miss the early games, at least this will prohibit me from drinking before 3pm.

Last  year's Penn State game taught me that nervous-drinking from 11am - 7pm will cause me to not remember the 4th quarter when I wake up the next morning (which was a good thing with last year's Penn State game).

What are your plans for tomorrow to attempt to fill the void of time before 8pm?

Officiating Seminar. OTOH it's a Level 1 Seminar and the last time I had to sit through one of those I was about thirteen. So probably trying desperately not to check my phone all day. And at five the binge drinking commences to make up for the other lost hours.

Walking to the Farmer's Market in the early AM, walking back home for Gameday, beer cracked at 10:00am, watching Sparty trip and fall against FAU at 12:00pm, turning on Alabama/PSU at 3:30pm, then heading to the bar in GR to get a seat and watch USC/UGA at 4:30pm, then camp out there until the game.

Girlfriend wants to buy a new TV.

Cons: I need to accompany to help with purchasing/carrying around/breaking of my back/setting up

Pros: I get input on what she purchases and can have it set up in time for the game.

As with every year on this weekend, my beer club's annual picnic with ribs and chili and lots of craft beer.  Except this time I can watch the game when I get home instead of pissing off my wife by sneaking away to watch some of it on TVs that some other Michigan fans would inevitably bring.

Is Gameday 9 a.m. to Noon?

Also, FYI Tigers/Twins is on national TV at 4 pm. Actually, come to think of it, maybe we'll go down to the game. Keeps yourself occupied and we should be home (suburban Detroit) well before kickoff.

8:00 - wake up and go to gym with wife

9:00 - return from gym - get dressed (5 minutes).  Wait next 55 minutes for wife to get dressed and decide what she wants to wear to game even though she's been doing that all week long

10:00 - leave house in suburban Cleveland to go pick up son and gf for trip to AA

10:30 - 1:30 - drive to AA

1:30 - 2:00 - check into hotel

2:15 - 7:00 - drink heavily at tailgate.  eat food i've been trying to avoid all week by the handful. disect game endlessly with fellow tailgaters and passer-by's.  give glee club, womans swim team, groups ect $30 each for their priceless version of the victors on CD cause i'm drunk. sing victors. yell "go blue" a lot

7:00-7:20 - watch band on steps of stadium.  get chills.

7:20 -7:40 - fight way into stadium.  try somehow to wipe grin off face.  think repeatidly just how cool all of this is

7:40 - 8:00 - watch flyovers, band, presentations, what have you.  smile still ear to ear

8:00 - 11:30 -  watch game.  yell too much. lose voice somewhere in second quarter. stand too much. argue with blue hair on proper position for watching game.

11:30 - ?  CELEBRATE!

I'll be counting my lucky stars that I only have to kill time until 5:00.

The key will be staying up way past my bed time tonight so I can sleep in until 10-11 Saturday morning.  Then grab some grub, procure beer, and settle in to flip back and forth between Cal/Colorado and Tennessee/Cinci (should be mildly entertaining since I have cash on both games) while working up a healthy buzz to help the time fly.

So really I'll only have to work hard to kill about an hour of my precious but oh so finite lifespan.  And I should be nice and hammered by then.  Sounds good to me.

Unfortunately I will be on a boat all day.  I will end up missing the enitre game because the boat gets back to the landing at about 9PM.  I missed the game last year for the exact same reason.  The only thing that can make up for not watching the game is to catch my limit on Blue Fin Tuna.

I have a minor league football game at 7pm. I'll have to keep my phone on the sidelines and DVR the game. I'll probably get up and watch college game day, watch whatever football game is on at noon and then head to my game. I'll probably be chewing the my nails till they bleed till I hear of the outcome of the game. I wont be nervous for my game though! lol

Mrs. Route66 and I will be selling our childrens clothes and toys in the am then I will be heading over to watch my Hope Flying Dutchmen play Wiscconsin Lutheran at 1:30.  Follow that up with some football on TV and then gametime!  I should mow the lawn sometime in there.  Ahh, the life of a 30-something in suburban America.

Tip: Give the woman you love (or in some cases your wives) a solid and meaningful toss first thing in the morning. This relieves your tension and puts a smile on her face that will hopefully last most of the day to where she'll at least leave you alone when you go to the padded room to watch the game (although, my wife will be right in there next to me, screaming louder).

Make sure there is enough beer in the fridge.

Work on deer blind.

Make sure there is more than enough beer in the house.

Make noise with power tools out in garage so the wife thinks I'm being useful.

Make sure there is way more than enough beer in the house.

That is all.

I will be at a girls HS volleyball tournament, that may last from 8:00 am until 6:00 pm and I ain't jokin'. These things never end. Was at the same tournament last year and missed a good deal of the game. At least this year M has the common decency to play a night game this year to accommodate my schedule.

I have to cover a groundhog festival in Punksutawney, Pennsylvania.  After I wrap that up, I should be able to beat the blizzard and make it back in time for the game.

I'm planning a pretty nice little Saturday, we're going to go to Home Depot. Buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, & Beyond, I don't know, I don't know if we'll have enough time.

Clean house, change lightswitch, pretend to fix toilet to pacify wife, paint door in garage, buy beer, etc.  Supposed to drive across town to watch game but that may inhibit drinking plans.  Must reconsider

I will be deciding whether to go in for OT or watch the game... I know what I want to do but I also know what I should do.... Decisions decisions... Watch first night game ever at Michigan stadium or get some extra money for the wedding....
