Officiating Seminar. OTOH it's a Level 1 Seminar and the last time I had to sit through one of those I was about thirteen. So probably trying desperately not to check my phone all day. And at five the binge drinking commences to make up for the other lost hours.
What are you doing tomorrow from a.m - 8pm to waste away the time until kickoff?
9:00am Wake Up
2:00pm Lunch and Beer
4:00pm Beer + Cornhole in the front yard
5:00pm Grill + Beer
8:00pm Beer and FOOOOTBAAAAAWWWW
Walking to the Farmer's Market in the early AM, walking back home for Gameday, beer cracked at 10:00am, watching Sparty trip and fall against FAU at 12:00pm, turning on Alabama/PSU at 3:30pm, then heading to the bar in GR to get a seat and watch USC/UGA at 4:30pm, then camp out there until the game.
Driving to Madison, Wisconsin to have my car worked on.
The beer will be flowing at my house in the greater Madison region. Stop by if you have alternative transportation (to find my house, just listen closely for "The Victors" repeatedly playing very loudly on the west side of town).
Girlfriend wants to buy a new TV.
Cons: I need to accompany to help with purchasing/carrying around/breaking of my back/setting up
Pros: I get input on what she purchases and can have it set up in time for the game.
If you're not opposed to theft, I hear they put up some nice HD video boards in the stadium. You might want to bring a couple friends and some heavy equipment, though.
a couple times
My favorite thing about this post is that it's tagged a informative lol
Waking up at some point in the morning.
going to Rynearson Stadium to take pictures of the game and hope that the Eagles can pull one off against another 1AA team.
Going up to my mom's to peform an exorcism on her computer and do her laundry.
Watch the game.
The best of all worlds. I will be destroyed by the time I catch my flight home on Sunday but this is what its all about.
As with every year on this weekend, my beer club's annual picnic with ribs and chili and lots of craft beer. Except this time I can watch the game when I get home instead of pissing off my wife by sneaking away to watch some of it on TVs that some other Michigan fans would inevitably bring.
Mowing my wife's lawn. Mowing my neighbor's lawn.
That reminds me, I have to mow this weekend. Guess it'll be a way to kill a bit of the wait.
Wondering A2, stuffing hot dogs, playing corn hole, sleeping, playing catch, get in at least one fight with my wife.
Goddamn medical school.
You may want to consider posting a Diary entry about those illnesses/inflictions to help your fellow MGoMembers that get a little too "rowdy" after the big win tomorrow night.
Methinks you should stop pretending like you are going to study tomorrow, study tonight and sunday, and then tailgate on saturday.
Is Gameday 9 a.m. to Noon?
Also, FYI Tigers/Twins is on national TV at 4 pm. Actually, come to think of it, maybe we'll go down to the game. Keeps yourself occupied and we should be home (suburban Detroit) well before kickoff.
8:00 - wake up and go to gym with wife
9:00 - return from gym - get dressed (5 minutes). Wait next 55 minutes for wife to get dressed and decide what she wants to wear to game even though she's been doing that all week long
10:00 - leave house in suburban Cleveland to go pick up son and gf for trip to AA
10:30 - 1:30 - drive to AA
1:30 - 2:00 - check into hotel
2:15 - 7:00 - drink heavily at tailgate. eat food i've been trying to avoid all week by the handful. disect game endlessly with fellow tailgaters and passer-by's. give glee club, womans swim team, groups ect $30 each for their priceless version of the victors on CD cause i'm drunk. sing victors. yell "go blue" a lot
7:00-7:20 - watch band on steps of stadium. get chills.
7:20 -7:40 - fight way into stadium. try somehow to wipe grin off face. think repeatidly just how cool all of this is
7:40 - 8:00 - watch flyovers, band, presentations, what have you. smile still ear to ear
8:00 - 11:30 - watch game. yell too much. lose voice somewhere in second quarter. stand too much. argue with blue hair on proper position for watching game.
11:30 - ? CELEBRATE!
Not thorough enough.
8:00 - wake up and go to gym with wife
9:00 - return from gym - get dressed (5 minutes).
Does he go to the gym naked?
I'll be ice skating. Not sure after that.
10am: College Gameday
1. 8am CT: Sit on Sofa. Turn on Gameday
3. Midnight CT: Turn off Gameday Final, get off of sofa, go to sleep.
Work out in the morning, do laundry, grab some lunch and then drink and watch football.
Fair. God what a stupid show. Although I enjoy watching the "Fantasy Reality TV" league recaps on Grantland...
Also Jersey is less of a hellhole than Ohio.
I'll be counting my lucky stars that I only have to kill time until 5:00.
The key will be staying up way past my bed time tonight so I can sleep in until 10-11 Saturday morning. Then grab some grub, procure beer, and settle in to flip back and forth between Cal/Colorado and Tennessee/Cinci (should be mildly entertaining since I have cash on both games) while working up a healthy buzz to help the time fly.
So really I'll only have to work hard to kill about an hour of my precious but oh so finite lifespan. And I should be nice and hammered by then. Sounds good to me.
our 2-0 mighty mite team at 12:30pm to another victory!
Then pick up some grub to grill for the game.
Unfortunately I will be on a boat all day. I will end up missing the enitre game because the boat gets back to the landing at about 9PM. I missed the game last year for the exact same reason. The only thing that can make up for not watching the game is to catch my limit on Blue Fin Tuna.
I have a minor league football game at 7pm. I'll have to keep my phone on the sidelines and DVR the game. I'll probably get up and watch college game day, watch whatever football game is on at noon and then head to my game. I'll probably be chewing the my nails till they bleed till I hear of the outcome of the game. I wont be nervous for my game though! lol
Mrs. Route66 and I will be selling our childrens clothes and toys in the am then I will be heading over to watch my Hope Flying Dutchmen play Wiscconsin Lutheran at 1:30. Follow that up with some football on TV and then gametime! I should mow the lawn sometime in there. Ahh, the life of a 30-something in suburban America.
Tip: Give the woman you love (or in some cases your wives) a solid and meaningful toss first thing in the morning. This relieves your tension and puts a smile on her face that will hopefully last most of the day to where she'll at least leave you alone when you go to the padded room to watch the game (although, my wife will be right in there next to me, screaming louder).
I'm pretty sure my wife wouldn't appreciate being tossed, the floor is pretty hard, and she already gets annoyed when I pick her up because she's always worried my back will flare up again.
I'm now cleaning beer off my laptop, thank you for that!
My wife is always at the guy next doors house screaming louder during the Michigan games? I always wonder what they're doing over there?
Make sure there is enough beer in the fridge.
Work on deer blind.
Make sure there is more than enough beer in the house.
Make noise with power tools out in garage so the wife thinks I'm being useful.
Make sure there is way more than enough beer in the house.
That is all.
"Make noise with power tools out in garage so the wife thinks I'm being useful" LMFAO!!
I will be at a girls HS volleyball tournament, that may last from 8:00 am until 6:00 pm and I ain't jokin'. These things never end. Was at the same tournament last year and missed a good deal of the game. At least this year M has the common decency to play a night game this year to accommodate my schedule.
I have to cover a groundhog festival in Punksutawney, Pennsylvania. After I wrap that up, I should be able to beat the blizzard and make it back in time for the game.
I'm planning a pretty nice little Saturday, we're going to go to Home Depot. Buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, & Beyond, I don't know, I don't know if we'll have enough time.
ugh.......shopping (for things I don't care about) sends shivers down my spine.
I will be deciding whether to go in for OT or watch the game... I know what I want to do but I also know what I should do.... Decisions decisions... Watch first night game ever at Michigan stadium or get some extra money for the wedding....
We're getting up at 430 to hike the summit of the South Sister in Oregon (celebrating as she just got her RN). Get back down by 4pm and get back to our house by 7pm (listening to the game on the radio en route).
I have one of those non-sports friends who is totally messing with my life by getting married tomorrow. I'll be back home with a little under an hour to spare, but that's not the point.
I suppose if you ask me on Sunday, I'll be saying "I had one of those non-sports friends..."
I won't go to a wedding scheduled at the same time as a game. Either they don't know me well or they don't care if I'm there.
I'll be back with an hour to spare BEFORE KICKOFF. I mean, let's not be silly... you can always make new friends.
From noon until 3, I will be at the Big Pour, one of the biggest beer festivals in the Pittsburgh area (and the midwest/mid-Atlantic region). Then I will sober up a bit throughout the afternoon before plopping my ass on the couch with the remains of my Lake Erie Monster case in the event that things go south during the game.
Waking up at 7am to drive to AA from Chicago.
Heading to parents' home to pick up ticket I just got UPS'd to me after buying on ebay.
Waking up at 7 am to head back to Chicago and do work.
football, but at 4 I'm gonna watch the Tigers game before I go to the Big House. Tonight, on my way to Ann Arbor, I'm taking a 3 hour detour to go to my 11th Tigers game of the year. (I'm 8-2 so far)
Gameday. Nap. Drink. Football. 8pm
I'm a tax accountant at the big 4, so I'll be spending all day tomorrow working, finishing up returns. Fortunately, I made it clear to everyone that I am going home before the game. Not sure if that'll actually happen though.
I have 2.7metric tons worth of editing as I desperatly need a certain document in Word not in the .pdf that it currently is. Going from word to .pdf easy, going from .pdf to Word, next to impossible.
Well, um, actually a nice little Saturday, we're going to go to Home Depot. Yeah, buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, & Beyond, I don't know, I don't know if we'll have enough time.
working to pass the time ....and watch Toledo beat ohio
7am get up start up smoker and put brisket on smoker.
8am Wake GF up with some Bfast followed by some saturday morning "excersize"
9am til Noon Watch Gameday
Noon - 5 Clean house, run erronds and get ready for guests
5-7 Entertain and serve up good eats while consuming beer (house warming party I'm masquerading and a football party)
8pm Tell said guests football is on and they will need to fend for themselfs the rest of the night. me and the 3 or 4 guys who watch football watch game, the females are going to go "scrapbook" or something......really don't care though lol.
get up early have breakfast with the fiancee. get dropped off at my best friends place. take his son out back and have him run routes and catch balls for a couple hours. he'll then be picked up by his mother and thats when the drinking starts. mostly slow roll it with wine through the early games and then really get it roaring when the game starts. then hopefully celebrate a victory with some friends and a bonfire into the early morning hours sunday.
Then will watch the 3:30 games and get amped up for the big one at 8 p.m. I will miss gameday because of butthole work but I needs the money.
Taking the wife and two dogs to the coast for a few hours to tire everyone out so I can watch the game in peace.
That should take me most of the day straight through to gametime. It is 30' by 30' so I am thinking I will have the time to finish it before dark.
Meanwhile the wife want to redecorate my little girls room so she will be busy in town buying wall paper, wayne-scotting (sp?) and paint.
On this note, are there any contractors on here? I am wondering what I have to do for my 16' garage door as far as a header. It isn't on a load bearing wall (it is on the gable ned of the building) so I think I can get away with triple 2 X 10's but I am not certain. It may have to be a steel beam. I know the code is different down there but I just want to know what would be safe (without over doing it). I don't have a permit so no one will be inspecting that it is up to code.
Thanks for the help and GO BLUE!
To all you bastards going to the game, have a great time!
Good one! What husband hasn't done something similar!!
My son turned 6, so we'll have at least 15 little ones running around hyped up on cake and ice cream. Good times.
7:30 AM - Wake up and get the crew going
8:15 AM - Drive down to AA.
9:00 AM-12:00 PM - GameDay
12:00 - 6:15 PM - Drink, eat, drink, bag toss, drink
6:45 PM - Enter Michigan Stadium, sneak cow bell in
8:00 PM - Lose voice, deafen surrounding fans with cowbell, Football!!!
~Midnight - Victory beer
Ironically, here in Louisville, KY? Going to IrishFest during the day, my daughter Irish dances, then home by kick off. Received a M throwback jersey as a gift. Going to casually mingle with it on amongst those sporting Notre Dame gear because this is an Irish-themed event.
I hope my wife is DTF.
Watching the Chippewas on ESPNU take on the SEC! (Kentucky.... but still!)
Any other current students lookin to tailgate together?
7 AM - wake up because son insists he's had enough of this sleep thing.
8 AM - watch "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic" while daughter gives me analysis of the show's characters
9 AM - count number of beers in both fridges. Run to store if less than 50.
10 AM - finally get around to ESPN after various chores.

2 PM - Football, but elsewhere because of a birthday party
3 PM - Football in exile
4 PM - Return home for football
5 PM - Football
6 PM - Start getting hyped for Michigan-ND
7 PM - Line up beers for first half. Make and eat dinner.
8 PM until midnight - UNDER THE LIGHTS!
1st college golf tournament of the year...perfect distraction until kickoff
Gameday, nap, watch various games, then turn on ESPN 3 for the Night game
Watch OSU-Toledo, calm down over the afternoon, start pre-gaming, represent at bars.
Got about 3 hours of work to do in AM
2pm Tee Time at Bear's Best Atlanta.
Grab a quick dinner, and should get home and showered up with about 1/2 or to spare before kickoff. Might as well take advantage of playing golf on a Fall Saturday now that it's starting to cool off a little. Hopefully the course isn't totally jammed with football is kicking into high gear.
game time is 9am here, so i'll probably drink till around 2am then get some sleep and get up early for the game.
9am = 소주시간!
Sigh, honey do's...mow lawn, clean bathrooms, pick up my daughter's friend to spend the afternoon. I'm not moving from the couch after 8 pm.
Toledo Rocket fans and loser fans of their opponent
Watch dvr'd highlights of Game Day
8 PM Football
Wandering around Ann Arbor with free meat and beer. Anyone know a good place to hang out?
I put a limit on my weekend sports watching during the non-CFB season. I usually just stick to the big events - NFL playoffs, Michigan hoops games, NCAA tourney, Masters, KY Derby, indy 500, and so forth. There are many weekends when I don't watch anything at all.
What do I get for this abstinence? I get to be an absolute college football slut in the fall.
Tomorrow I will watch CFB from the time I open my eyes while still in bed, until the time I close them falling asleep on the couch. Whatever chores I have to do, I will do them while watching games.
I'll start by watching the ESPN Game Day "pre-game" on ESPNU. Then I'll watch ESPN Game Day until 12:00. At 12:00 I will flip around the channels and check out every game that's on. I'll eventually settle in on a couple games that are close at the end.
At 3:30 I'll watch PSU-Alabama and check out the other games as well. I'll then watch whatever game comes on in between the end of the 3:30 games and our game.
I'll watch our game at 8:00 and stay focused on it, I won't flip around much to the other games, lest I get distracted. After our game, I'll check out the reaction on MGoBlog with whatever far-west game follows ours playing in the background. Finally, I'll watch the CFB recap show and then Sports Center highlights until I fall asleep on the couch.
By Sunday I'll be so burnt out from college football that I will have gotten it out of my system. Until next weekend.
I will be sleeping all day before pulling a night shift in the ICU.
Doubt I will be seeing much of this one.
