What are you doing tomorrow from a.m - 8pm to waste away the time until kickoff?
I will be at Disney on ice from 11:30am - 2:30pm ct. (before anyone asks, yes, I have two young daughters aged 5 and 2).
Although I will miss the early games, at least this will prohibit me from drinking before 3pm.
Last year's Penn State game taught me that nervous-drinking from 11am - 7pm will cause me to not remember the 4th quarter when I wake up the next morning (which was a good thing with last year's Penn State game).
What are your plans for tomorrow to attempt to fill the void of time before 8pm?
September 9th, 2011 at 2:12 PM ^
We're getting up at 430 to hike the summit of the South Sister in Oregon (celebrating as she just got her RN). Get back down by 4pm and get back to our house by 7pm (listening to the game on the radio en route).

I have one of those non-sports friends who is totally messing with my life by getting married tomorrow. I'll be back home with a little under an hour to spare, but that's not the point.
I suppose if you ask me on Sunday, I'll be saying "I had one of those non-sports friends..."
September 9th, 2011 at 2:36 PM ^
I won't go to a wedding scheduled at the same time as a game. Either they don't know me well or they don't care if I'm there.
September 9th, 2011 at 3:06 PM ^
I'll be back with an hour to spare BEFORE KICKOFF. I mean, let's not be silly... you can always make new friends.
September 9th, 2011 at 2:21 PM ^
From noon until 3, I will be at the Big Pour, one of the biggest beer festivals in the Pittsburgh area (and the midwest/mid-Atlantic region). Then I will sober up a bit throughout the afternoon before plopping my ass on the couch with the remains of my Lake Erie Monster case in the event that things go south during the game.

September 9th, 2011 at 2:29 PM ^
I'm a tax accountant at the big 4, so I'll be spending all day tomorrow working, finishing up returns. Fortunately, I made it clear to everyone that I am going home before the game. Not sure if that'll actually happen though.

Used to be in public accounting. Gotta love extension season.

I have 2.7metric tons worth of editing as I desperatly need a certain document in Word not in the .pdf that it currently is. Going from word to .pdf easy, going from .pdf to Word, next to impossible.

get up early have breakfast with the fiancee. get dropped off at my best friends place. take his son out back and have him run routes and catch balls for a couple hours. he'll then be picked up by his mother and thats when the drinking starts. mostly slow roll it with wine through the early games and then really get it roaring when the game starts. then hopefully celebrate a victory with some friends and a bonfire into the early morning hours sunday.
September 9th, 2011 at 3:09 PM ^
Then will watch the 3:30 games and get amped up for the big one at 8 p.m. I will miss gameday because of butthole work but I needs the money.
September 9th, 2011 at 3:10 PM ^
Taking the wife and two dogs to the coast for a few hours to tire everyone out so I can watch the game in peace.
September 9th, 2011 at 3:16 PM ^
That should take me most of the day straight through to gametime. It is 30' by 30' so I am thinking I will have the time to finish it before dark.
Meanwhile the wife want to redecorate my little girls room so she will be busy in town buying wall paper, wayne-scotting (sp?) and paint.
On this note, are there any contractors on here? I am wondering what I have to do for my 16' garage door as far as a header. It isn't on a load bearing wall (it is on the gable ned of the building) so I think I can get away with triple 2 X 10's but I am not certain. It may have to be a steel beam. I know the code is different down there but I just want to know what would be safe (without over doing it). I don't have a permit so no one will be inspecting that it is up to code.
Thanks for the help and GO BLUE!
To all you bastards going to the game, have a great time!

Ironically, here in Louisville, KY? Going to IrishFest during the day, my daughter Irish dances, then home by kick off. Received a M throwback jersey as a gift. Going to casually mingle with it on amongst those sporting Notre Dame gear because this is an Irish-themed event.

Got about 3 hours of work to do in AM
2pm Tee Time at Bear's Best Atlanta.
Grab a quick dinner, and should get home and showered up with about 1/2 or to spare before kickoff. Might as well take advantage of playing golf on a Fall Saturday now that it's starting to cool off a little. Hopefully the course isn't totally jammed with football is kicking into high gear.

Wandering around Ann Arbor with free meat and beer. Anyone know a good place to hang out?
September 10th, 2011 at 12:03 AM ^
I put a limit on my weekend sports watching during the non-CFB season. I usually just stick to the big events - NFL playoffs, Michigan hoops games, NCAA tourney, Masters, KY Derby, indy 500, and so forth. There are many weekends when I don't watch anything at all.
What do I get for this abstinence? I get to be an absolute college football slut in the fall.
Tomorrow I will watch CFB from the time I open my eyes while still in bed, until the time I close them falling asleep on the couch. Whatever chores I have to do, I will do them while watching games.
I'll start by watching the ESPN Game Day "pre-game" on ESPNU. Then I'll watch ESPN Game Day until 12:00. At 12:00 I will flip around the channels and check out every game that's on. I'll eventually settle in on a couple games that are close at the end.
At 3:30 I'll watch PSU-Alabama and check out the other games as well. I'll then watch whatever game comes on in between the end of the 3:30 games and our game.
I'll watch our game at 8:00 and stay focused on it, I won't flip around much to the other games, lest I get distracted. After our game, I'll check out the reaction on MGoBlog with whatever far-west game follows ours playing in the background. Finally, I'll watch the CFB recap show and then Sports Center highlights until I fall asleep on the couch.
By Sunday I'll be so burnt out from college football that I will have gotten it out of my system. Until next weekend.
September 10th, 2011 at 8:00 AM ^
I will be sleeping all day before pulling a night shift in the ICU.
Doubt I will be seeing much of this one.
