What is the age of accountability?
My 4 year son snagged my phone today and started asking questions about the "M" app.
I showed him the most recent hype video of "THE GAME" and he was instantly hooked. Not only did he want that app but he wanted to know more about which team we want to win (I think he liked the fighting part). And so it begins! Trying not to go over his head and keeping it PG, I clearly drew the line between good and evil..
To those parents out there, when do you expect your child to begin to understand the rivalry?

I have a child. Unfortunately there is no hope for her ever rooting for the good guys. Her mom is a Sparty (you live, you learn.) She decided to attend that school that... oh how I hate.
I don't think she appreciated when I told her last week I was rooting for the giant sink hole to swallow the stadium, the teams and all the fans whole.

I don't remember a time when I didn't understand. My children won't either.

Especially in light of my nephews that I have been referencing that are buckeye fans. The Youngest asked me 'what if Caleb (my son) like osu when he gets bigger'? Before I could tell him his older brother laughed and said 'uncle will never let him vote for osu'. I told him that I agreed with his brother and that Caleb would be now and forever be wearing maize and blue! So hopefully his age of accountability has started?
Go Blue!

My kids have a decent notion of the rivalries now at 9 and 8, to the point where on days where my daughter has gym, she will sprcifically bring the Michigan gear because her gym teacher is an MSU graduate and has Spartan gear everywhere. You have to admire a fourth grader who, when asked why she does this, says, "Someone has to right the wrong".
