Wetzel says that B1G has given up on campus site playoff games due to emotional attachment to the Rose Bowl? Seems to side with Brian on the obvious benefits to the B1G with on-site playoff games. If true, I'm highly disappointed. His point re: 3 travel games in less than a month - two of which requiring air travel - really hits home. Particularly for an out of region alum like myself.

What's sooooo stupid about this issue is the ability for individual schools athletic departments to make profits from bowls is variable.  The years the B1G has been able to send two teams to BCS bowls (average payout of $18 mil/game) and an additional 4 teams to the bowl tie-in's then yes, there is probably enough money to cover all of the bowl expenses and have a little profit left over for each individual athletic department.  But the years the B1G only sends one team to the BCS, I bet no school makes a profit other than the ones who are staying home.

Guh!!!
