Okay, so it's kind of slow tonight and I figured I would strike up some somments on the board. I ran across an article which talked briefly of Alex Carder being named to the Manning Award watch list.
Western Michigan's QB Alex Carder was 1 of 31 QB's named to the Manning award watch list, which is awarded to the nation's top college football quarterback. Manning could very well be lethal with his arm this year, but Michigan has nearly a month to scheme for the passing attack Western will try to employ.
Do you feel we will see a lot more press coverage in Mattison's defense? The past few years our secondary always seemed to play 7-10 yards off the receivers. I know we wil blitz a lot more, and should be able to take advantage of a young Western O Line, but need to be tight on the receivers.
Of these 4 corners which 2 do you feel will be the most successful playing press coverage, and bumping the receivers off the line? Woolfolk, Floyd, Avery, Countess. I threw Countess in there, because I am not counting him out as a starter at some point early in the season.
I may be a little more nervous than most regarding the Western game, only because of Alex Carder. I still have nightmares of the presvious regime's pass defense.
