West Texas Wolverine and watching Michigan games in El Paso

Hello MGoBoard,

Seeing as the season is quickly approaching (god, Thursday cannot get here soon enough and, of course, Saturday) which brings up a thought: how the hell am I going to be able to watch all the Michigan football games out here in the badlands that is West Texas? I do have dishnetwork and have Big Ten Network (although I may not depending on the status of the program being dropped) but I'm more concerned about any noon/afternoon games that are brodcast on ESPN or abc and such. I'm terrified that I'll the game will be blacked out in favor of any of the Texas schools. Any suggestions or other Wolverines out here in El Paso have any thoughts or am I just being too paranoid? Thanks for any insight and Beat the Tide!!!

I would guess you could check your tv listing about a week before the game. If it isn't on tv for you, there are always streams available online.

This isn't that hard.

I'm aware of streams and all that but I'd rather not be huddled around a computer and actually use the living room to watch football games. I'm just asking about satellite programming help and also doubles to find out if there are more people in El Paso to watch games with. You seem to be in a particularly sour mood lately.

It is just a little bit of a silly question since nearly everyone would prefer to not use an internet stream for games and about roughly half of the games don't even have details on which network they will be aired on. I'm not really sure what you are looking for in this thread.

Big Ten game is broadcast nationally, for the THIRD straight season.

 

All ABC games will be shown on ESPN2 if a texas school is on ABC in your area.

 

All ESPN/2 games are national.


So is BTN..


Why are people STILL posting about this? It's 2012.

only watch football and nothing else on tv the rest of the year - therefore do not have cable or satellite. Others who do have limited packages. I used to be one of the former until I finally broke down and got DirectTV.

I lived in Austin (not El Paso, but still Texas) the last six seasons and as long as you have ABC, the normal ESPNs, and BTN, you'll be able to watch them all. As GoBlueMich02 points out above, if a game is broadcast regionally on ABC, it will end up on one of the ESPNs nationally.

In sum, if you have lots of sports channels, you'll get to see the games.

Try Fox and Hound. I lived in Lubbock for a while and they seemed to always have the game on there. If they don't have one in El Paso I'm not sure what to tell you.

I think Albuquerque is 4 hours drive or maybe Lubbock like the above poster mentioned.  Long way to travel to see it on TV, but for the bigger games it might be an idea if you can't get the game locally.

as far as the ESPN games I've had good luck with catching all of them. It seems like even if UM games get bumped from ESPN or ABC, they end up on ESPN2 or ESPNU and all the games are usually available on ESPN3. If you've got B10 network then you're good to go.
