Sam Webb said that a west coast OL who is currently committed to another school is visiting this weekend. Does anyone have any guesses? Andre Y?
[Edit: My bad. I initially posted this as a DL. Sam said that it's an OL.]
Christian Heyward comes to mind but not sure if he is committed anywhere. I know Hoke was recruiting him at San Diego.
to Oregon, so that is a possibility..
Mustafa Jalil could be a candidate. From San Diego and recruited by Hoke at SDSU.
That is a must-have name.
ITS NOWICKI.... it even says so on his scout page that he is visiting january 28th.
I would bet that its OL Ryan Nowicki the arizona OL who is committed to Penn State, Ryan Nowicki.
He got an offer about a week ago. This is the most likely candidate
He's already shown a willingness to move far away from home.
It's Nowicki. Nowicki is committed ti PSU, but will be visiting UM this weekend. He's from the same high school as former Wolverine Norman Heuer.
DGDestroys gives me props. A pos bang would be nice ! And his scout page says he is visiting Jan 28 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here is Nowicki for those who want to know...
Interesting how the Scout site indicates his interest level in Michigan as "No Interest" yet they also show that he's scheduled for a 1/28 visit.
Somehow I doubt he's visiting due to the great January weather in Michigan.
He saw Blimpy Burger on "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives" and wanted to try it for himself. Guy Fieri is his idol.
When a player is verbally committed elsewhere, all other schools are listed as "no interest."
He actually posted an Offensive Lineman on GBW.
I heard "...sive lineman" and got excited.
get more excited and read nowicki's writeup on scout....
|Scout.com Player Evaluation:|
|Big, strong, well-coached player. Runs well and is able to get to the next level and effectively make blocks. Pulls and traps with authority. Gets after it in the run game, always looking to finish the defender. Tends to play a little high. Has the ability to move inside and play guard.|
I love that we keep offering guys. It's going to be awesome on the 1/28 visit weekend when we have 8 guys visiting and one open scholarship.
Maybe Hoke knows that some of those offers that we all consider as possibilities, are definitely not gonna happen.
Gotta love recruiting. We are all in the dark armed only with a flashlight named tom - he's a good flashhlight, but its a big god damned room.
I really don't think its going to be that big of a deal. Even if we get to 28 scholarships (max for a class), I think that some kids won't qualify and there will be natural attrition. Don't worry about it until it actually becomes a problem.
Does this mean they're not feeling good about Fisher?
the #s right now don't add up
but I am sure we don't know all the facts
just ask Spurrier.
Payback for Zettell??
I think this is payback for them still recruiting Countess.
Westerman? We were in the running for him at one time, and he's from Roh's "neck of the woods", but I would think TomVH would be all over that as well.
was the name that came to mind right away. Early interest with Lewan and Roh as former teammates.

I am wondering what is up with the offers. I thought that we offered both Durham and Barnett. Also, I figured that Rawls had an offer as long as he qualifies. It seems weird that this is an updated visit list, but the offer column isn't updated.
I talk to Nowicki quite a bit, since he's in AZ. Michigan has been trying to get this visit for awhile.
measure in case fisher backs off?
