that one off..............
Tennessee is not recruiting well just because they got 18 dudes
they're just another bracket pick. Sweet 16 and "Buh-bye". Make me some money you green and white little bitches.
Someone tell me there watching 'Cuse dominate? Scoop Jardine just had a sick cross over +1
Lane violation? Lolwut.
..to see MSU need the refs to help them pull out a game against a 12-seed. I guess CBS needs the money more than they need fair play.
The problem is that they actually called it. Reality was that the officials for the game were horribly inconsistent.
They called a somewhat loose game in the 1st half and then called everything the first 8 mins of the 2nd half and then just let everything go from about the 8 min mark on.
Felt bad for both teams really, hard to play when no one knows what a foul is and isn't!
What are you talking about? There is little to no subjectivity in a lane violation. The guy clearly did it and he got called on it. Raymar has a long stroke and clearly this player didn't study it. There's nothing to really argue here, he clearly jumped into the lane and the ref saw it. Busted, plain and simple. It sucks for his team that he did it with a minute left in the game but that's not the ref's nor MSU's fault.
Seth Davis did a slow-motion blow-up of the player's foot. He clearly stepped onto the hash mark of the guy above him on the lane (he did not step into the lane). I think most non-MSU fans would say you don't make that call at that point in the game (sort of like how MSU's offensive lineman committed an egregious hogtie of our D-end on the last play of the 2001 home timekeeper game) but a violation is a violation.
However, the refs did not review the amount of time left when the ball flew out of bounds before the final play for NMSU. According to Davis, there should've been .6 as opposed to .3 left. Now, I don't really think there's much of a chance to score a three either way, particularly when you have to inbound from under the basket. But I find it pretty derelict not to even review the play and check the time with tenths of a second of vital importance (cue PSU fans and 2005).
Apparently you don't watch too much basketball. A lane violation could be called on nearly every free throw that is taken during a college basketball game. It is absolutley insane for an officail to make that call in such a crutial moment. Did you miss the part where the NM St player tried to get back into his position? How about the part where the state players didn't even try to go for the rebound. That small step that the Aggie player took had no effect on the outcome of the free throw nor the outcome of the rebound. State lucks out again.....god I hate those bitches
That's OK. Now they have Maryland. I wish I could go to the game in neutral colors and watch the two worst college fanbases in the country interact. If there's one thing State fans deserve, besides a fifty-year losing streak to Michigan in everything, it's dealing with Maryland fans.
New Mexico St blew this game. I was frustrated with the lack of offense down the stretch when Gibson and Young were trying to be heroes and were just jacking up contested shots. There was very little ball movement and they were making bad decisions. Maybe they got tired after their explosion in the second half, who knows.
Either way, I have Maryland winning the next one. I really wanted to see some couches burn last night though.
The Aggies worked MSU by using tough man to man defense, and then offensively by going inside.
Then they get away from what worked, and once again we see the referees being invoked as the reason one team lost.
Anyway, looks like their exit day is coming real soon. I was watching UM crush Miami in hockey. Go Blue.
Should be interesting...I wonder how many fights their will end up being.
I wanted to see State lose just to see that stupid look get wiped off Morgan's face. Should be a nice douche matchup between him and Vazquez tomorrow.
I fucking hate Morgan, purely because of how "hard" he tries to look all the fucking time. To hear the announcers talk about what a good kid he is just made it worse.
/Sparty thug rant
God I hated that. I don't give a shit, that scowl still does not negate the fact that he is a puss, and has played like one pretty much the whole he's been there. Here's to Maryland sending their asses back to EL
It makes me laugh when basketball players try to look angry after they do something good. Hit a big 3 or a nice dunk... SCOWL!!! Thought it was supposed to be fun.
Adrenaline during athletic activities usually does not result in smiles, unless it's the very end of a game. It happens in just about every sport, including volleyball. I don't know why that type of reaction would surprise you, unless you're also tickled to death by the fact that people cover their mouths to cough or that people wrinkle their noses when they smell my farts.
I can think of very few other players who make the ridiculous "mean" faces that Morgan does, and I watch a lot of sports, man.
Anyone see Izzo's press conference? Dude said MSU played well last night. Maybe they did.
It's about showing joy when you do something good, and not anger. Hockey players celebrate like crazy when they score goals, golfers get excited when they hit a good shot, etc. I don't remember seeing Yzerman scowling after a nice goal.
