I thought it was a fitting tribute to a man who could turn your blood cold with just a few words or communicate something hilariously evil in much the same way.

I accept that I could have spelled it out in an earlier post, I just figured more people knew who Powers Boothe is and might have working internet. I do wonder how many people just use the gif and have no idea who the guy is or why he is/was such a terrific actor.

He was great in Deadwood. Also, if you never saw him in Southern Comfort with Keith Carradine, you have to watch it. Army reservists on training exercise in the Louisiana Delta steal a canoe from local Cajuns to cross a swamp. Very poor judgment. Exciting movie with great score by Ry Cooder.

To me, Powers Boothe will always be the bad guy in Sudden Death whose motive for wanting to blow up the old Igloo in Pittsburgh (because the VP was visiting for Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final) I still don't understand 22 years later.

So were the terrorists gathered around the television during game 6 rooting for the Pens to win and force game 7?  What if the Pens lost?  Pack up the C4 and wait for the Arena Football final?

RIP Cy Tolliver.

Exactly. IMHO, Luc Robitaille is the hero of the movie because his last-second goal forces OT, delaying the mayhem. I guess the only saving grace of the film is that those were the actual hockey players playing, from Tony Amonte and Chris Chelios to Ken Wregget and Robitaille.

"So, let's blow up Pittsburgh's arena during the Stanley Cup!"

"Great idea!  That will show everybody.  Killing their second most important politician during a big game in their fourth or fifth favorite sport.  Anyway, game 1 is Thursday and game 2 is Saturday.  I think we can have everything in place by Saturday."

"No, it should be Game 7."

"But, only about 30 percent of series even..."

"I said Game 7!!!"
