Welcome back Bi-Polar Michigan fans! We missed you!

Submitted by bouje on
Last week everyone was talking about how Denard Robinson would win the Heisman and how we'd challenge for the Big Ten Championship.

Fast forward a week after "escaping" against a UMass team that was ranked in I-AA and is probably better than most MAC teams and the board has gone off the deep end saying that there is no way that we'll win 5 games and that we are fucked.

It's great to have you guys back.  I missed the complete irrational expecations of Michigan winning every game rolling everyone.

This was a trap game.  2 emotional wins against 2 teams that were supposed to beat us and then a let up game, a reversion to the mean.  And all of a sudden everyone is off the band wagon.

Calm down.  Everything is okay.  Was it good?

No

Was it a wake up call for our team?

Yes

IMO we will roll BGSU next week.  I will be the first one to call it.  You heard it here first.

Reading this board right now, I'm pretty sure we deserve to be the first team to win the Tears of Unfathomable Sadness award without actually having lost the game.  That hasn't happened before, right?

"we are what we thought we were."  I don't think anyone thought DR would be that good, or the O-line.  And Stonum?  Had a great day today.  It's just that the offense has taken a great leap forward (perhaps on the shoulders of one player), but the defense has taken a much smaller one - good enough against UConn & ND, not so much against UMass.  So, maybe the "improvement gap" is what is causing everyone to complain.

Maybe it would be more precise to say that "the defense is what we thought it was."  But even then, there are bright spots.  Mouton?

I believe DR getting pub for his stats is great, but it's no substitute for UM performing well as a whole.  When's the last time we had a Heisman winner on a team w/ more than a couple of losses.

Think you're cool for "calling out" alleged bi-polar UM fans?  Think you're making a bold prediction that we'll blow out Bowling Green?  No one's talking about Bowling Green.  I think that I, and a lot of other rational, educated Michigan fans, are looking ahead to the conference schedule and see NO WAY for this defense, as it's currently comprised and coached, to stop anybody.  Period.

"I DONT SEE HOW WE CAN STOP ANYONE IN THE CONFERENCE.  PERIOD!!!!!!"

(emphasis mine)

If we can never stop them, then we will never win a game in conference.  I disagree.  Completely.  You're an idiot.

You're like George Costanza when he pushes the little kids out of the way during the fire.

that comment was to be taken literally, but it's obvious you're a tool that likes to try to call out disappointed fans in the heat of the moment.  Fellow Michigan fans I might add.

Dude, I remember when you first arrived on this board and were a freakin leper.  You got shouted down regularly for being such an ass.  Then you learned to operate more respectfully and survived your initial carpet bombing.  Congrats.  Looks like you're back to your old tricks.

I'm calling you out for a fucking stupid comment.

End of story.  If you want to bring up my posting history that's fine but ya know what I don't care and anyways I have more points than you therefore my penis is bigger than yours!

(that's what it means right?)

It means you overcompensated for getting the hell negged out of you when you first arrived by dinking and dunking your way to a huge point total.

Riiiiiiight, man.  That's what it means.  It also means your big penis is located above your neck.

Go Blue.

4-5 losses in conference is still really - really - not that bad.  I think most of us expected 7-5 or 8-4 and not contending for the Big Ten title this season.

I'd be thrilled with the CapOne bowl this year.  Something to build on for next year.

Only in my wildest dreams were we going to improve from a 5-win season to a 10-win season, especially when the back end of our schedule is loaded with the B10's best, and we miss out on two of the biggest cupcakes in the conference.

Why is it not OK to express discontent after watching the team play poorly, but just fine to shower them with non-stop praise when we play well?  I understand that fans sometimes get a little bit irrational at times, but the people who are upset about the defense have a legitimate cause for concern and have every right to say so.  It isn't time to jump off the deep end yet, but sometimes there just isn't a silver lining no matter how hard you look for one.

Because they were IRRATIONALLY high last week in a last second win against ND and IRRATIONALLY low this week in a win against UMass.

I guess that's just human emotions they are just irrational idiots.

No offense.

Agreed. If anything, it seems as if M is pretty much on track to meet "expectations" 7 wins, give or take one. Does anyone else think the make-or-break game will be MSU? It just feels as if a win would take off a lot of a heat. A loss, it seems, would be hard to get past, no?
