I just read this is the Ny Daily News. Weiss is out at Notre Dame:
Weiss out at Notre Dame
where have you been? :)
So are you bummed, elated, or just melancholy about this?
Disappointed that the season took one of the worst turns it could and that it resulted in the dismissal of the head coach, but there is still plenty to be hopeful for.
i don't get why it's so difficult for people to spell "Weis" correctly
The man has been a staple in the sports news world for 5 years and yet at least 50% of people continually spell his name wrong.
Also on the list of annoyingly misspelled names:
It really annoys me when people misspell the names of Charly Weiss and Scot Shaffer. Here are the correct spellings:
"Fat Ass" and "Dumb Ass"
What about Woolfork?
I can't wait until Weis is off the radar so that we don't have to see people continue to spell his name as "Weiss."
isn't the rule: i before e except after c so wouldn't it be Wies? Or does the c in Charlie count, making it Weis? I'm even more confused how to spell is name.
Charlie doesn't follow rules; he makes rules.
Charlie makes his own rules because he is the gold standard
isn't the rule: i before e except after c
Not in German.
haha i was going to make the same post.
the guy's so big he deserves 2 s' in his name.
I have a old MS Paint I made of Weis after the UM game. I never posted it before. I will post it later today in his honor.
"The sky is blue" and "Titanic does not return from madien voyage"
more on each story after the non-existent jump...
Cool. But the real question is: how many duplicate threads will we have on this topic?
You go first. If you make a duplicate thread, I will. I promise.
C'mon man, they all searched through at least eight pages before posting.
Where's Jamiemac to provide a line when we need him?
Over/Under is at 3.5. Take your picks.
Now all I can think about is going to Wendy's. Those double-stacks won't know what hit them.
also, weis fat.
just wanted to post the article to make it official.
Greeks beat Trojans. Win back Helen trophy.
But fired in Spanish is encendido. It would have been perfect otherwise!
Thanks! One cannot let Weis humor be marred by poor Spanish.
Encendido in spanish means to be set on fire. To actually relieve someone from employment is "despedir" or in your sentence "despedido".
Well, whatever it is... Who's on the neg-rampage this morning? It's not like this thread is all that inflammatory.
Joe Schad just reported that it is like officially official. Weis IS out.
"Weis was not in his office early Monday, though there were no announcements about whether he will return for a sixth season. Swarbrick has said he will make that decision within the next few days."
Aren't they contradicting themselves here? So ESPN,, he is fired but you are not sure if he will return for a sixth season??
slow internet fail.
So much for that "decided schematic advantage"...
I like the ad at the top where it says "Go to the 2009 Gator Bowl". Nothing gets ND fans fired up like Va Tech against Pitt.
"Which way do the scales tip when it comes to Charlie Weis' tenure at Notre Dame"
I think that they should have picked a more... appropriate analogy.
Damnit. I hope they don't hire somebody who's both competent and a good recruiter now.
So how long until Brian Kelly or Gary Patterson are hired now that Weis is gone? (If I was ND, those are the 2 I would go after)
Charlie's ass is grass. Wait, nevermind. It's lard.
EPSN is saying that Weis would be good a good OC with the Browns. I like it
I can see why you'd try to put a "DD" in Charlie's name, but "ss" is just silly.
