Weekend Games Snoozefest
Can't help but noticing that this weekend has no good matchups or upset possibilites.
Other than watching our Wolverines pummel Iowa, only games I could come up with were:
#12 Colorado costing RR his job? (7-6 last year , now 2-7)
Why is 7-2 Minn unrated? Will they hang with Neb?
Ole Miss might upset over-rated Texas A&M - they do stuff like that.
Boise at Hawaii??? Go Rainbows!
Rutgers at Michigan State Lose with Dignity Bowl

DON'T MENTION OUR GAME WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!
Beat iowa.
November 10th, 2016 at 12:09 AM ^
Iowa!
November 10th, 2016 at 12:31 PM ^
They must have drawn the short straw, having to air the MSU/Rutgers Rock-Bottom Bowl for the Situation Trophy.
I bet ratings for that one will set records....
November 9th, 2016 at 8:30 PM ^
interesting and some could be very good. ped state v. IU could be fun. rutgers v. state could be the tire fire of your dreams. curious to see how ohio matches up against the recently dispatched terps, give us something to compare to. also, that USC v. washington game could be a dandy. if nothing else it might give us a better guage on just how good the huskies are.
November 9th, 2016 at 9:26 PM ^
to watch. And Michigan @ Iowa is pretty awesome. I am really looking forward to this weekend.
November 9th, 2016 at 9:36 PM ^
People are sleeping on USC, and they are (IMO) hitting their stride. I think they'll give Washington a tough game.
November 9th, 2016 at 9:56 PM ^
...Washington coming out on top.
November 9th, 2016 at 10:22 PM ^
I think USC can beat Washington.
November 10th, 2016 at 12:11 AM ^
At Seattle is tough - game were in LA, I'd agree about the upset but think U-Dub will win. SCs Defense shit down Colorado better than others.
November 10th, 2016 at 1:20 AM ^
That sounds messy. Did I miss the ESPN coverage somehow?

Somehow? Count yourself luck. Trust me, that shit is not something you want to see ever...
November 10th, 2016 at 9:29 AM ^
How does somebody count their self luck?
November 10th, 2016 at 9:32 AM ^
I'm really intrigued about that Michigan Iowa game. The Wolverines are having a great year but the Hawkeyes have beaten them 4 out of the past 5 trips to Kinnick. Should be a good one.
November 10th, 2016 at 10:50 AM ^
To add to our last 3 trips to Iowa City and how the the program was a tire fire during that time.
2013: It was one of the most pathetic displays of offense ever. We barely had 110 total yards. And yet we lost that game in the 4th quarter 24-21.
2009: In a typical RichRod defensive performance, our secondary played about 15 yards off the Iowa receivers the majority of the game and we naturally got burned. This game shouldn't have been close. Iowa was good, we had only one B1G ten win all year, which we barely won against Indiana. Yet somehow, we had a chance to win here with a field goal. Forcier got benched, Denard came in and threw the game ending interception. We lose 30-28.
2011: Brady Hoke's one decent team. We were very underwhelming. Had a chance to tie it up at the very end but apparently you can grab the waste and crush a guy while the ball is in the air in Iowa City and not get called for pass interference.
The common theme here: All very poorly coached Michigan teams with tons of flaws playing each game at Kinnick down to the wire. I'm very interested in Saturday night's game with a talented Michigan team with excellent coaching.
November 10th, 2016 at 11:08 AM ^
In '11, I had seats right on the goal line. I'll never forget the grab on that last play. Just terrible..sickening.
November 10th, 2016 at 12:35 PM ^
Lost 4 of past 5 at Kinnick ....
Won 6 of past 10 at Kinnick ....
(12-7-1) vs Iowa overall the past 20 games
(41-14-4) all-time
Iowa, like State, took advantage of the down deacade in A2, as pointed out above.
Don't fear the Pink Lockerroom or ghosts of Michigan Teams past
November 9th, 2016 at 10:37 PM ^
I'm definitely interested in psu vs iu
November 10th, 2016 at 9:30 AM ^
I suddenly can't stop watching the Spartan games. It's like a video of something awful you can't resist watching.
November 10th, 2016 at 10:29 AM ^
has a chance to set a new BIG10 record with most Big 10 losses in a season.
November 10th, 2016 at 10:45 AM ^
It's appointment TV. I've been planning my Saturday's around it. How will MSU continue their regression to the mean this week? Stay tuned for next week's scenes!
November 10th, 2016 at 12:27 PM ^
Sure, maybe only one game (S Cal at Washington) may be considered a "high-profile" game, but there are many games that figure to either be competitive or have something on the line, or both.
Before I go through the list, I'll concede that my college football amor is more extreme than most, and I can usually find a reason to watch any game...
NOON
S Carolina at Florida. Florida needs a win to stay alive in the SEC East, after losing to Arkansas, their margin for error is zero. Muschamp returns to his former employer.
Kentucky at Tennessee. Both teams still alive (lol) in the SEC East.
Iowa St at Kansas, Rutgers at Michigan State. Intra-conference Bagel Bowls. Someone will get off the schneid in each.
W Virginia @ Texas. W Virginia aims to stay somewhat relevant, C Strong aims to stay employed.
Penn St @ Indiana. Penn St needs a win to keep pace in the B1G East, Indiana is one win away from a bowl.
3:30
Auburn @ Georgia. The Deep South's Oldest Rivalry. Auburn needs a win to stay relevant in the CFP picture, while Georgia is one win away from a bowl.
Army v Notre Dame. Army is one win away from a bowl, and Notre Dame is 3-6, meaning their margin for error for the postseason is zero.
7/8pm
LSU @ Arkansas. Both teams are out of it in the SEC West, but Ed Orgeron will look to continue to at least stay in the conversation for LSU head coach permanently.
Minnesota @ Nebraska. Both teams are 4-2 in the B1G West. Minnesota has yet to also play Wisconsin. Gophers are sill in this, folks.
S Cal @ Washington. S Cal is still alive in the Pac-12 South, and U-Dub leads the Pac-12 North and looks to continue on their CFP track.
Michigan @ Iowa. On the road at night for a Top 5 team...always worth a watch.
November 9th, 2016 at 8:31 PM ^
Thanks for the laugh out loud moment!
November 9th, 2016 at 8:31 PM ^
Baylor Oklahoma and USC Washington both could be interesting games. Rutgers MSU could be interesting in a "I like looking at car crashes" kind of way (and imagine the schadenfreude if MSU loses to them). But yeah, not a lot of compelling matchups on the slate.
November 10th, 2016 at 6:38 AM ^
I am going to EL for the Rutgers-MSU game. I was offered $50 to occupy a seat; and I am permitted to leave at halftime.
November 9th, 2016 at 8:32 PM ^
Minnesota's unranked because their ongoing four game winning streak is a result of a Maryland-Rutgers-Illinois-Purdue schedule. They've lost to the two teams with a pulse they've played, Iowa and PSU

Those wins haven't been blowouts, either. They needed a field goal as time expired to beat Rutgers at home, for example. Decent team, but not imposing.
November 10th, 2016 at 12:06 AM ^
a bit of a stretch, IMO. The Gophers are probably the worst 7-2 team in any of the Power 5 conferences.
November 10th, 2016 at 12:49 AM ^
Perhaps we have different meanings of "decent." That, to me, is a step below good, and there are a lot of 2-loss teams I consider good. They've won seven games and their loss at Penn State was far from embarrassing. They play hard, they do some things with reasonable competence, they win some games. Decent. I think teams like Maryland are in the same category.
November 10th, 2016 at 4:07 AM ^
equates my "mediocre". When I look at results so far for the Gophers, the most impressive score to me is the OT loss @ Penn State to open their B1G season. And it's highly likely Minnesota loses the last 3 (@ Nebraska, vs Northwestern, and @ Wisconsin), which would put them at 7-5 and in an obscure bowl game played in front of ~10-15000 fans.
November 9th, 2016 at 8:32 PM ^
to have gotten it together and they have the athletes to compete.
November 9th, 2016 at 8:33 PM ^
alert. Penn State at IU.
November 9th, 2016 at 8:39 PM ^
I was thinking that, too. PSU is coming off of the OSU win at home and demolitions of two bad teams (@Purdue and home vs. Iowa). Indiana seems to be righting the ship offensively but will they be able to slow Saquon Barkley? Not sure they can but it could still be interesting for the visiting Nittany Lions.
November 9th, 2016 at 8:33 PM ^
There aren't any top-five matchups, but I'm watching all day. We would all cherish a game like USC-Washington once May/June rolls around...
November 9th, 2016 at 8:34 PM ^
Plus Michigan plays! How is it ever a bad day of football when that happens?
November 9th, 2016 at 8:36 PM ^
Penn State vs Indiana ought to be pretty entertaining. Buttgers vs Staee should be too, for totally different reasons.
The 3:30 slate is the problem. After that, you have our game, USC v Washington and LSU v Arkansas. Colorado v Arizona should be good too to close things out.
November 9th, 2016 at 8:37 PM ^
Looking forward to a couple of potential upsets. USC vs. Washington has a chance to be interesting and I'm hoping Pitt can somehow give Clemson the NC State treatment and pull one out. The more one loss teams the better.
November 9th, 2016 at 8:37 PM ^
What if MSU upsetzz Rutgers?
November 9th, 2016 at 8:39 PM ^
Harambe had a better shot of winning the election.
Rutgers is taking home all the axe.

Has it been determined yet if the winner or loser takes home the trophy?
November 9th, 2016 at 8:38 PM ^
Weird stuff happens at Kinnick. Everything says we should win, but I can't help but think of '86 and losing to Minnesota. Just make it to The Game undefeated.
November 9th, 2016 at 8:38 PM ^
I think pitt will give clemson a game
November 9th, 2016 at 8:50 PM ^
Pitt just got destroyed by a Miami team that was coming off a four-game losing streak. Furthermore, Pitt plays no defense whatsoever. They've allowed less than 27 points once this entire season, against FCS Villanova (7 points), and are last in the ACC in scoring defense (34.4 ppg allowed).
Expect Deshaun Watson and friends to boat race the Panthers this weekend.
November 9th, 2016 at 9:39 PM ^
I thought the same as SBo when I saw the list, but you are bringing actual facts into the conversation, and I am consequently changing my mind. It's a great chance for Clemson to start putting up big numbers.
November 9th, 2016 at 9:51 PM ^
I expect Deshaun Watson to have a big day passing as he and his talented core of WRs shred Pittsburgh through the air.
November 9th, 2016 at 10:11 PM ^
Last in the ACC and 126th in all of FBS. Only Rice and Arizona State (397.6!!) allow more yards per game through the air.
Seriously, can we just appreciate for a second how bad ASU is at defending the pass? Nearly 400 yards allowed per game! Wow.
November 10th, 2016 at 3:09 AM ^
I didn't realize Rich Rod was coaching Arizona State now.
November 10th, 2016 at 6:27 AM ^
Quarters has become obsolete faster than the cover 2 base ever thought of it. Stunning how fast it declined.

Correct.
Pitt's pass defense is in the deep 100s in the country. Furthermore, Narduzzi has not wavered from his man coverage beliefs since coming to Pitt, continuing to leave guys on islands even after they are repeatedly smoked. During the Thursday night game against VA Tech, the sideline reporter mentioned that Narduzzi told his DBs that "it's up to you guys, because we're not changing anything". Wow...
