Webb - Rival SEC Assistant Says Durkin Expects Call in Next 24 Hrs from Harbaugh to be Offered DC
Smell that in the air.... smoke... refreshing smoke.
Word from a rival SEC assistant is that scenario is much more than rumor. “He is waiting for Harbaugh to call him within the next 24 hours to make him the defensive coordinator at Michigan,” the assistant said.
Also Sam rehashes Mattison as either co-DC or LB coach.
If you are new to the DJ Durkin experience here are some stories I cobbled together earlier this week.

Dead period yadda yadda but coaches will do anything to say something to a recruit that XX coach won't be there. Coaches did it to us with RR and hoke...negative recruiting 101.
NOT saying Durkin isn't possible (or likely even), but "rival SEC coach" carries as much weight as "NFL reporter"

You would be dead wrong. Durkin is already out at Florida as they have hired a new DC. So what you said is impossible.

Boom goes the logic! Something that has been missing on alot of these posts.

Well #1 Sam is not a recruit and said rival coach is not gaining much by saying this. The info has a life of the next 24-72 hrs ...so unless you expect a ton of recruits to fall A&M's way (or not) by Tuesday there is no benefit to said SEC coach in recruiting wars. Even if you believed all that Durkin is currrently coaching Florida in a bowl - so its a bit of a stretch to use this info against Durkin on the recruiting trail. A trail he is not even on at A&M. #2 your last statment made me chuckle - not sure if you have been reading the blog but taking "NFL reporters" views as anything more than the salt you should take everrything else with, probably needs some re-examining.

I really hope they keep Manning and let him coach LBs like before.

I posted this in the bleacher report thread, by I figure it is worth another post here.
So staff rumors thus far:
HC - Jim
DC - Durkin
LB - Mattison
OL - Reggie Davis(possibly TE)
TE - Andy Moeller(possibly OL)
WR - John Morton
DB - ?
DL - ?
RB - Wheatley with some kind of shared OC duties.
Special teams - ?
Mattison has no problem coaching DL, so maybe he would be the DL guy and Manning would be retained as the LB coach?

Is Harbaugh the de-facto OC? Who calls the plays on Offense?
December 27th, 2014 at 4:55 PM ^
has been completely silent on anything Harbaugh related the last 3/4 days. Would think this kind of rumor would be there. Maybe they have some hard feelings toward Michigan after they were so adamant a NFL coach wouldn't leave the NFL unless he was told to leave

BRING BACK JERRY MONTGOMERY!

With his strength in ST, would he handle that as well? I would love for us to actually be...uhm...competent there.

According to Wikipedia Durkin is already our coach -
