Wear Maize or Blue to Spartan Stadium?

Submitted by wildbackdunesman on

I originally wanted to wear my Jersey (home so its blue) to the game in East Lansing, but I am thinking...doesn't maize stand out more....and the more of a presence we have possibly the more the team feels at home?  Probably won't make a difference.

Would be kind of neat to have 10K plus decked out in maize this weekend in Spartan Stadium.

Due to nike SUCKING at making Pro Combat Uniforms, They made the MSU uniforms for the game Green and GOLD!!!

Although its a definite gold, it is close enough to maize to get ragged on by sparties about it...

Wear blue to be safe.

Here is a pic.

And act like the most negative, miserable Sparty fan in the world.  When Michigan takes its first twenty-point lead in the fourth quarter, wail at the top of your lungs, "Oh, no, we just signed this guy to a LIFETIME CONTRACT!"

Other suggestions:

"Why can't we EVER have two good years in a row?"

"Shit, we might not beat Michigan again for the next ten years."

Etc...

You can have fun, and you won't get a bunch of assholes throwing beer and food at you.

Maize definately stands out more.  It's the difference between a light (maize) against a dark (green) as opposed to two darks (blue and green).

Wear the Maize proudly and be nuts in the stands!

I live out in AZ, so I have to watch all of the games on TV.  I cant tell you how great it was to see all of the maize in the stands yesterday in Evanston. I think the blue can blend in more with the other teams colors or coats.  Whereas, no one from another team will ever wear maize.  I hope we can fill up sparty stadium like we did Northwestern's.  Go Blue!!!

not worth a new thread, but can someone tell me what sections are Michigan sections at MSU?  Since I haven't missed a game yet this year ... I'm going to swallow big and use a ticket broker to get 2 for MSU.  Want to get at least close to some "friendly fans" since I can pick section number for tickets.

Great time at NW (thanks to a Tremendous 2nd half).

Go Blue!

im going to go into student section with my msu,f him rite?, cousin, so i cant wear michigan clothes unless i want to get hurt or harrased whole game and that could really take a toll on my sensitive teenage emotions. im gonna go neutral sweater with a michigan maize shirt (hidden) under.  if we win rip it off and just start throwing punches at every msu student i see.

But you're a coward. I sat in the MSU student section in 2007 and proudly wore my #20 away jersey. I endured taunts, jeers, countless "AA Battery" jokes, threats on my safety and life, hits to the back, arms, neck and head with water bottles both empty and full (some with change and others with water), and other things I'd rather not discuss.

However, when we won, I looked around and saw clearly all those brave souls who dared to wear Maize and Blue into Spartan Stadium, and our voices were the only ones to be heard as we belted The Victors and told everyone within the stadium that it truly was great to be a Michigan Wolverine.

And you know what? Those same students that tormented us all game had nothing to say. Sure, they had lost, but I think they also respected our fortitude and ballsy decision to go into enemy territory. So I say this to all of you afraid to wear our colors proudly into opposing venues: you'll endure some awful shit, but should we win, you'll enjoy a reward far greater than any pain you may have experienced in the process.

And in the words of the book of Lloyd, chapter 14, verse 8: "Be not afraid, I Bo before you always."

just because I dont wear our colors doesent make me a 'coward', I didnt say I wasnt going to be screaming for us every play, and supporting them with every ounce of energy i got. Just because you wear some jersey doesent mean your some ultimate supporting god, there are tons of fans that prefer not to wear michigan gear to games but still love the team, they would rather show it in other ways. Also I wont get shit thrown at me because that would probably make the game experience worse.
