"We had lift off" (ty for keeping us lvl)

Submitted by Diggsrblue2 on

Notre Dame last weekend was a huge lift for Richy and co., however seeing the maize and blue "play" against Eastern now reminds me where UofM football stands.  Our defense is one step above sucking (allowing almost 500 yds last week), and watching Eastern march down the field at will is a precurser as to what will come against other teams (OSU).  So before the bandwagon gets overloaded, lets just a few of us jump off and walk next to it before the wheels fall off :P

Forcier has looked better than impressive in his first 2 1/2 games now, but remember he will make typical freshman mistakes which....hey it happens.  Leaning on Minor/C. Brown to rack up the yardage to clinch this win.

Hopefully the defense can pick it up in the second half, not sure how many yards they've allowed thus far but i hope that can stop a few runs like they did in the first quarter.

SH*T, had a season flash before my eyes w/Tate down there for a moment.....

How many wins this season?? Today is 3 (thank god), should definitely beat Indiana next week. MSU and the Iowa night away games make me nervous; interested to see how this "high powered" offense can function with 75K people screaming down their throats.  I am realisticly thinking 7 wins, 8 or 9 would be above and beyond IMO.

6 wins is the new lower boundary for this team. Anything less is a failure (and will cause us to hear about Rich Rod on the "hot seat" all offseason). 6 wins and a bowl game shows progress from last year, but not a lot. 7 wins is good, 8 wins is great, 9+ is amazing. And if we get 12 I'll shave my head.

Take a deep breath, everybody. The first half wasn't good, which is kind of to be expected following the epic last minute finish of last week. The second half was quite good, even considering the fact that we're trying wacky experiments like letting Denard Robinson throw the ball sometimes instead of running First and Touchdown every time he's in the game. I think we're going to be okay.

I'm glad we have him out there and throwing. He needs the experience, clearly, and sometimes the only way you get better is through adversity. Now that he's gone out there and thrown those interceptions, the coaches have some things to show him in film that will make him a better backup QB.

That's the reality. The defense came out flat in the first half, but they were playing a markedly inferior opponent. Even with its best game, this defense will be regularly scored upon by any half-decent team. This is year one of what will probably be a three-year project to get the defense back to respectability.

I was glad to see him out there throwing. Even though he threw 2 picks it still shows that RR is not just gonna put him in there to run and gives future teams something else to look at when they put a gameplan together. He just got a little greedy on the 2 picks but I could see some improvements and it seems as if he is grasping the playbook a little more.
