We are MICHIGAN

MICHIGAN Football the Greatest Football Program in history, a program constantly under attack by other less successful programs, who aggressively go after our recruits, point out our two losing seasons, put more credence in recruit high school star rankings then actual performance potential. We are MICHIGAN we do not follow...never had, never will…we find the best players, 5 star or 2 star it’s our rating system that counts, not the for profit sports news agencies (they have good information but some ratings are always in question and rating hype sell ads space). MICHIGAN is a leader and when MICHIGAN offers someone, no matter what their star rating is that players stock rises and so will his offers…once a player commits to MICHIGAN there is a good chance his rating might drop….or his position ranking will drop….Why? Because we are MICHIGAN…… No matter if you believe it or not, we are still a feared program, we are the 800 pound Gorilla in the room. Look at the players we have, their ages, and how much they have developed in a short time, we’re well on our way. I have been called an unrealistic optimist, but I say to that, seeing is believing, I’ve seen what is coming and I am a believer…I have been blessed to have two sons that will play D1, I have traveled from school to school meeting coaches, seeing facilities listening to hype, and they all use MICHIGAN as a caparison, programs around the nation still fear us. I am A MICHIGAN Fan, call me out, tell me my teams stinks, spit in my face, ask my how the Bowls season was….and I will tell you Michigan Football was built on games won and games lost, the sting of a losing seasons will drive the this program to back to prominence again....we have never rebuilt we have reloaded and you better hope that your team is not on our target….Those that stay will be champions.

Saturday morning, and I think I just read every possible cliche ever written. But I agree with the sentiment, Go Blue! I do rembember a movie about another school that claimed "We Are ....", that didn't work out that well for them though.

"once a player commits to MICHIGAN there is a good chance his rating might drop….or his position ranking will drop….Why? Because we are MICHIGAN……" Maybe I'm missing something, but this doesn't sound like a positive thing.

Thank you sir for getting my day off to a good start. I too am sick of the closet Spartan fan who only wears the green and white when times are good. The random Spartan fan who'll come up to me and ask why I'm still wearing my Michigan gear after the past two seasons. To that I say Michigan is MICHIGAN. I wear my gear in good times and in bad. So Spartan fans... dust off those hats and wear them proudly, you've earned it. Just don't forget to clear a little space in the closet on October 9, 2010. Me thinks you're gonna need it.

Don't even sweat it guys. Kentucky basketball (winningest basketball program) went through hard times last year, but look at em this year! They're 18-0! That's what's going to happen with us!

If you think about college football coaching as a profession, and it is, this statement is especially interesting. This isn't said often around these parts, but the overwhelming consensus among coaches is that RR is one of the best coaches in the game and that, given time, he will win and win big. Indeed, the position of this blog echoes this sentiment. The great irony is that the biggest impediment to Michigan's future success is not the football program, but the whiny, ignorant, and totally irrational fans who believe their screaming is somehow productive. Remember - recruits and their parents are not dumb. They read what's said around these parts, in the newspapers, and on radio and TV. If the prevailing voice is that of the virulent fan, then the UM fan base is not fairly represented. It's refreshing to see a positive message these days since, after all, it is the correct one.

I, for one, think that these last couple of years (and, unfortunately, perhaps the next year) have actually made my Michigan fandom much more...dynamic. As in, when (not if) we are back on top, it will taste infinitely sweeter having gone through these past couple of years. I am with you, OP- Pride doesn't take a day off. I wear my Michigan gear as often as I always did, and actually more often now, because I always do so on the day after a loss, because, well, I WANT people to talk shit- I want to tell them that pride doesn't waver.
