we are in good hands

Still insanely frustrated from the game.. but feeling like i need to try and look on the bright side.

Michigan had an awesome run with 5 freshmen in the first half.. Stauskis, Spike, GR3, LeVert and McGary. They have all grown leaps and bounds from the beginning of the season.. and I think it is safe to say we are in good hands going forward.

I am proud of this team for making it as far as they did, and playing as hard as they did. They had heart and fought to the very end. We will be back.

The thing is, we could have the best team in the nation for the next 10 years and it is still not a guarantee to go 5-0 against the best competition in the nation and get back to this game.  It's not college football.

Dammit.

Unfortunately I had the same thought pretty much right after the game ended.  Better teams than this have failed to reach the finals.  The tournament format is so exciting but it also makes for more random results than probably any other sport.  That's why it hurts so much to get so close but not win, knowing how tough it will be to get back no matter how good future teams will be.  This one will sting for a while.

It is SO HARD to go through the NCAA tourney. One off night and you're done. The best team often doesn't win the whole thing because it's just about whoever is on a hot streak. I just wanna stay around the Sweet 16/ Elite 8 level for the next couple of years.

I remember making a comment (that was upvoted!!!) a few years back that said that if Coach Beilein made the NCAA Tournament every year, got a few Sweet 16s and then transitioned to a hot yong coach everybody would be happy. LOL @ that.

You mean Craft... Burke was the one who got McGary involved late in the season... And having double doubles in points and assists doesn't qualify him as a bad player. Go home, and look at your facts. Maybe find a couple of friends... That's a decent solution to fill time instead of going on your rival team's blog and just flaming up a storm. Get a life.

Hats off to the kids who worked their tails off for several years to get to this point.  It was an awesome, unexpected ride that didn't deserve to end like this.  One team loses, one team wins, this is true.  We lost by 6 points to a damn good basketball team.   Just sucks that the "Patino to the HOF the same day he wins Nat'l title" is too good of a story line to allow anything else to happen.  Even if calls were missed, obvious calls have that game letting the players on the floor decide who wins.  That game had every right to be within 2 points at the finish, and someone on either side deserved to be able to make a play, make a shot, make a defensive stand to win the game.

History will show that this was the most talented team we've ever had. I don't know that we'll have this good a chance at a national title for a long time.

THJ, GRIII, and McGary back for next season, we will be absolutely loaded offensively. Defense should come as well with time. Sad thing is, though, I see all of them leaving. Great and memorable season, though.

I'm not so sure about ANY of them leaving.  THJ is the most likely but he can correct some inconsistency with another year and make a big jump in the draft.  The other two can potentially be POTY candidates next year after getting their freshman jitters out.  Burke will advise both of them to stay.  We have two of the best recruits in the country coming in next year in Walton and Irvin and we all know Beilein can get the best out of his recruits.  Kentucky will be scary next year, but we'll push for the Big10 and make a run.

Do you really see them all leaving?  I just don't see it.  Hardaway didn't show up to the FF, GRIII and Mitch have been way too inconsistent all season to say they are ready for the NBA.

Trey would have been a 1st rounder last year, but I think with the guidance of the coaching staff, he realized he could be so much more with one more year under him.  I think the same will happen with our freshmen and THJ, and I see us being back here next April wishing these 3 good luck and talking about our new outstanding freshmen that we hope don't leave.

I'm old enough. I think we'll look back at upon this team in ten years and realize how incredible it was to have five legit NBAers on the team. Burke, McGary, and Robinson will all be lottery picks if they time it right. Hardaway and Stauskus will have longer, better pro careers than King or Jackson just because of size and niche skill set, respectively.

I didn't see a title game team this year two years ago either. We know we have a coach with an almost unreasonably good eye for talent and a university that has committed massive amounts of capital and effort to make sure you're wrong. There's and old saying where I'm from... You don't sell Dave Brandon short. The man wants titles and by God I believe he is going to bring us titles come hell, high water, or atrocious officiating.

All the negativity about us not being able to make it back to a title game for a long time might just be misguided due to the circumstances tonight but come on! Coach B has built a solid foundation with incredible recruits coming in, we will be battling for years to come and in the thick of it.

at getting back here again.  We have talent all over the roster with more coming in.  If only Trey and Jr go, we could still get back.  It's pretty damned hard, for sure, but with the players we have  now and we have coming in, why would we give up and assume another lengthy exit from the big stage?  Doesn't make sense.  We exited before because we screwed up off the court.  There are no signs that this will happen again with the leadership we have in the coaching box.  It's silly.

Out of a Ohio fan and a Michigan State fan tonight for saying something crazy while they sit an watch on their burnt up couch. We're here for the long run. Go blue dummies.
