Lou Holtz just said UM will go 7-5. Other than Beno Cook I dont hate anyone as much as Lou. Maybe this will be the one time Lou has ever been right!
I see a title like "we are doomed" and I'm thinking that Forcier and Robinson got in some career changing car accident together or something not Lou Holtz lol.
sorry about that man.lol although Lou saying 7-5 is still scary
He said to write it down in pencil and they all began to laugh. It doesn't bother me at all. Winning will cure that type of disrespect.
Maybe Lou knows by now that whatever he says, generally the opposite comes true. He wants Michigan to fail, so he is predicting a halfway decent season. I bet later this week he will call them a dark-horse BCS championship contender, and Forcier the front-runner for Heisman.
Yeah, well we definitely can't take his word after he predicted Florida to beat Notre Dame in the BCS Championship game.
Why does he kill his credibility with ridiculous statements?
Does he want to be not taken seriously?
I guess he learned from the best - Bill Walton.
he also said that all 5 losses would be to Notre Dame, not sure what he means by that.
I ask you to ponder:
"Cone's pass incomplete. Intended for Tacopants."
Cone's arm isn't too strong, so if it's intended for Tacopants he probably ended up hitting Mathews right on the numbers.
Since 72 year old Lou is always wrong, I'll take that to mean we win more than 7!
Isn't he planning on running for office? Now THAT would be entertaining.
This is coming from the man that in the pre-season before Notre Dame's 3-9 season picked them to have 10 wins.
7-5 is not a doomed season. Is it the ceiling for this year? Surely not, no. But it's marked improvement over last year.
Its doomed because Lou said Michigan would go 7-5.He is never right!
even get that one right ... id be ok with 7-5 and an ass kicking of a directional michigan school in the moter city bowl
Alright, I will dust off my sandwich board sign and call my posse (chicken little, Edgar Cayce, Nostradamus, and the fine reptilian rulers from Nibiru) to preach the street corners again.
I'd take 7-5 right now. But I think he's saying Holtz overrates everyone, so we will be much worse than that.
I doubt Lou Holtz overrates Michigan. Ever. The guy hates Michigan with the fire of a thousand suns.
He's a ND homer and a Michigan hater all the way.
Not because of his 7-5 pick for us...Kirk Herbstreit (OSU alum) says the same thing & I respect him a lot more than Ol' Man Holtz!
What I almost choked on...and made me wonder if the Old Man is smoking some MEGA-crack...is his pick of 12 wins & a spot in the national title game for ND?! Talk about being a "homer"...how does ESPN let him get away with that? If our Desmond said that Michigan was going 12-0, he'd probably be laughed off the station.
Yes, the Irish will be better but 12 wins? NO WAY!! I see 9 wins, max and, in fact, I'm going to guarantee that U-M will beat ND in Week 2...and Ol' Man Holtz will be put in a straight jacket & taken to the home, LOL!!
I really hope he is just joking about that. although he did say in 2007 that ND would when 10 games and we see how that went.
How is Notre Dame going to play in the MNC against Florida as he predicted with a loss to a 7-5 Michigan in week 2?? Does he really think they will have enough time to clime to #2 after that? Notre Dame will win 10 games...from now to the middle of next season.
Lou just said we'd be 7-5 at worst. I'd take that in a heartbeat after a season like last year.
I remember when we absolutely ripped 'ol Herbie apart for thinking we would go 6-6 last year. If only...
a lot better then Mark May. That is the one guy on ESPN I can say I dislike the most. I don't think the man has ever said anything good about Michigan and he is the biggest front runner pick guy I have ever seen on tv. If everyone says USC is the best he will agree, Florida etc. I don't think he even gave Utah credit for crushing Bama last year I think he said something like Bama had a bad game and Utah got lucky??? But back to Lou he is crazy you can't understand him but if your an ND fan right now he is filling your heads with something that won't come true. I see this groundswell of ND fans talking like they really think they will be playing in the BCS title game and it's really funny.
Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
then break it and tell me if it's right 2 times a day
..if they had digital clocks in his day.
Did Holtz ever thank Bo for kicking it to the Rocket 2 times in a row?
