Miami University Director of Athletics David Sayler announced Megan Duffy as the newest head coach of the women’s basketball program on Monday, April 3. Duffy, a native of Dayton, Ohio, spent the previous three seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Michigan and becomes the RedHawks’ ninth head coach in program history.

As a Miami (NTM) alumnus and Michigan fan, this is nice to see.

Jesus, I'm a student at Miami and had no idea either of our basketball teams had their coaches fired until after the hires were made. I believe we just hired a Purdue assistant to be our men's coach about a week ago. Sadly the best sport we've had this year was football who went 6-7, but made a bowl! Lookin at you sparty and domers...

Miami did hire a Purdue assistant -- Jack Owens. Not a splashy choice, by any stretch, but he has a decent resume.

Miami athletics has been down for so, so long now...at least they are trying to dig their way out of the hole (or, more appropriately, climb their way out). Maybe, just maybe, football turned a corner last season.

As a Miami alum, Hockey was our only sport that was watchable, I still have pains of watching that 2009 Hockey National Championship game against BU.  What has hurt Miami Hockey was the dissolving of the CCHA.   I really wish we could be apart of the B1G Hockey just like Johns Hopkins is in the B1G Men's lacrosse.

I was at Miami in the early to mid-90s and even then, hockey was really all we had. Football and basketball had their brief resurgence a few years after I graduated (Big Ben and Wally S), but yeah...hockey was truly where it was at, and nothing was better on a Friday or Saturday night than a packed house at the old Goggin.

I'll never forget the game against Michigan in 1993 -- on a whim, I looked on YT, and damn...there's the game-winner right there.

BTW, I dearly miss the CCHA, too.
