WBB beats down Duquesne in WNIT Second Round, 68-52

The Michigan Women just got done destroying Duquesne at Crisler in the WNIT Second Round.

Next up, they travel to bowling green in the WNIT Third Round on Thursday, March 27 at 7pm.

Goree once again had a double-double, her 13th of the season. Michigan was sputtering in the first half when she went out with two fouls, but once KBA put her back in, Michigan took control of the game once again.

The final score is not indicative of how lopsided the game was. Michigan was up 56-29 and also had a 31-point lead at one point.

bowling green was an NCAA bubble team this season. Michigan played them in the first game of the season out in New Rochelle, NY in the Iona Tournament and lost 52-63.

Thing is, this Michigan team returned less than 15% of its scoring from last season. They are a completely different team now than they were back in November.

For the first time in program history, Michigan has three straight 20+ win seasons. Kim Barnes Arico is the first MIchigan coach ever to have back-to-back 20+ win seasons. She also is the winningest coach in Michigan history in terms of overall win percentage.

It's good that they are playing at a high level and not getting discouraged at missing the big dance. Play well in the WNIT and you never know where it can lead next year. Congrats on the success and may your season continue.
