Wayne Lyons?

Submitted by CincyBlue on

After reading Brian's Defense UFR on his concern for the 2nd CB spot, got me thinking about Wayne Lyons.

Does anyone have any inside info on why he isn't playing?

On the depth chart he is listed as a safety, on the roster as a CB.

Guys ahead of him are just doing better.

I haven't heard anything on Scout at all about Lyons lack of playing time.

The real question of this thread should be about Lawrence Marshall not playing in either game so far.

......but I'm much more interested in a 5th year grad transfer from a prominent program not getting on the field than I am about a RS Freshman.  Marshall will have plenty of time to have an impact on the program.  Lyons only has 13 (now 11) games.

On the bright side, if Lyons isn't seeing the field, it's most likely because the players in front of him have more of an upside.  It's sort of nice that a 5th year grad transfer from a prominent program is having trouble getting on the field.  He'll get his chance....probably this weekend.

Lyons isn't better than the starters now and neither is Marshall.  The difference is that Marshall is probably in line to start at Buck next year whereas Lyons will probably be on an NFL practice squad.

Agree that Lyons being buried is probably a good sign for Michigan.  Marshall not playing is more of an unknown.

Many people overtly accused Harbaugh of hiring Lions' mom in an attemt to recurit the transfer student.

Maybe Hargaugh recruited Lions in order to hire Lions' mom.

Agreed.  As this staff has cleverly attemted to recurit the transfer student, we shall here-after consider Lyons officially recurited...but, is he a recurited safety or recurited corner????  Dang the mystery is intense.  And now we have the Lions invovled????  Could be a violation.
