The skinny: Best team in the Big Ten? I’ll make that leap. Every starter returns from a team that posted a negative efficiency margin during conference play, but has the talent to do more than make small improvements. Michigan’s good enough to be next year’s breakthrough team, much like UConn was in 2010-11. Morris, Hardaway and Morgan are a solid young trio who will be reason why. Morris and Hardaway can create their own shots, while Morgan’s a beats on the boards. The wild card? John Beilein’s offense relies on 3-pointers more than just about any other team. The Wolverines were about average (35.3 percent) this season; a slight uptick next year would be the difference between 20 wins and 27.
I love Michigan and think they will be very good next year but 9 is way too high. I have them finishing 3rd in the Big Ten with like a 12-6 or 13-5 conference record.
There is no reason we couldn't be #1 in the big ten or #2 (i think OSU with sullinger back will most likely be #1 realistically, but if we split the series with them and have a better record in conference we could end up as the #1 in the big ten)
Isn't tsio also losing their best 3 point shooter which got them a lot of wins in my opinion.
I guess I do like this new scheme of Tournament Round grade inflation after all.
Sports Illustrated has us at #13: http://tourney.si.com/2011/04/05/after-the-confetti-our-top-32-for-11-1…
Also, I found it amusing that there is no mention of Sparty, even with 32 slots in the article :)
how did washington not make the list and Arizona and UCLA did? Wierd.
Washington is losing a lot: Isaiah Thomas, Bryan-Amaning, Justin Holiday, Venoy Overton.
Yes, they have some good young kids, and a super freshman (Wroten) coming in, but I don't think they can fully match the production that is going out the door.
think this is about right. Last year we played really good basketball. We are not suppose to lose anybody, knock on wood. We played osu 3 times and lost by 20 points combined. What about duke, kansas we lost to them by a combined 9 points.GO BLUE!!!
um i love me some jordan morgan but i seem to remember multipe games where he went half the game without pulling down a single rebound
9 is low. We should be at least #1.
