As someone whose surname also happens to be "Cook", I believe I will second this notion. We are not all related, of course, but here come the Cooks, running your blog, covering hoops, deleting your threads and so forth.

I think I am in the target audience (18-25 male), but I found this to be really dumb. Or am I giving it too much credit, and the target audience is more like ages 10-14? Does anyone really watch adult swim?

Proposal: This video should be used as a kind of Anti-Muppets.  Example: If Michigan wins 13-12 tomorrow in a game that was excruciatingly painful to watch, there would be a post saying, "Too Many Cooks: Northwestern."

Or if Brady Hoke gets a contract extension.

Or really anything that's happened to Michigan football this year.

If you didn't think it was funny, that's fine. I love how people like to believe that they have the ultimate taste in comedy (the "that was a waste of time, here's something that's ACTUALLY funny" crowd). Some things are funny to some people and not funny to others. It just wasn't your taste, which is fine, but it doesn't meant it wasn't funny to someone else. This is, in fact, a big deal on the internet right now. It was aired at 4 am on adult swim under 'infomercials'. It probably works better in that random scenario where you don't know it's 11 minutes long and are less likely to drop out after the first minute. If you did do this, you missed some pretty solid parody material.

Anyway, I heard that they're doing more next week, but those will be made by different people (Matt Besser and Rich Fulcher). So check it out if you think you'd be into it.

This is all true. This segment is being hailed critically for it's comedic value right now by a LOT of people, so I mean, to each his/her own. I think a lot of good art is not easily digestible or immediately satisfying (OMG 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY DRAGGED ON WAYYYY TOO LONG AND I DONT GET WHATS UP WITH THE BABY AND THE LIGHTS???). A lot of the times you don't appreciate something right away, but that doesn't mean it sucks. Or maybe it does suck, but that's still just your opinion. Except Ohio State sucks, and that's a fact.

Well I like it. I thought it was a funny premise at first, just 11 minutes of opening credits to that horrible theme song (IT TAKES A LOT TO MAKE A STEW), but then things took a turn toward great right about the time Smarf showed up. And then there's the Lars von Trier cameo.

I've watched it a few times now trying to spot machete guy's first appearance. I think I spotted him juuust on the right edge of the screen during the bicep curl kid's shot at 0:19 (look at the pattern/color of whatever is over there by the golf clubs). But if he's not there then he's DEFINITELY lurking right behind the homework girl who appears right after bicep curl boy.

You gotta watch it without those subtitles though. They get in the way during at least one machete man appearance.

I guess not everyone's cup o' tea around here though. Too bad.

I thought it was quite good.

It reminded me of that show from the '80's (which, BTW, had a very disappointingly short run), "Too Few Cooks", but with many more cooks.

I was previously unfamiliar with this so-called "Adult Swim."  What I do know is I watched Too Many Cooks once and it wasn't funny.  Then I got high, and suddenly it was HILARIOUS!

Do other Adult Swim shows rely on this same formula?
