Drive the blue buses.
I don't know if they have any openings in Ann Arbor, but I was a Casual Carrier for the USPS during my summers (01-04). The USPS is everywhere, so its something to check out. I made $14 an hour and the job was nice because you were off on your own most of the day. Only drawback was working on Saturdays, but only for 4 hours. I would work between 30-40 hours a week and they pay overtime.
please elaborate...all you have to do is walk in and apply?
qualifications? references?
Do you need a car?
Just check with your local post office to see if they are looking to hire Casual Carriers for the summer.
No car needed, but you will need transportation to and from the Post Office (you get to drive the trucks out on route).
Qualifications would be a HS diploma, no criminal record, and pass a drug test. You must also be in good health, be able to carry up to 35lbs for extended periods of time (doesn't really happen, but its a requirement).
Try to have a reference if you can, but from what I remember, I had some and didn't need them.
Move to Vegas and get a job working in the Adult Film industry.
I think we have to find out if he meets the requirements of a drug problem, deceased or estranged parents, or no other marketable skills. If he has one of those and the required physical stamina to hack it, I say go for it.
His avatar is Tim Tebow(crying I think?) so we know he has the stamina. And his avatar is Tim Tebow so a drug problem is probably within the realm of possibilities.
More like Meyer trying to feed Tebow some jello which is clearly not going well since he is retarded.
Already booked my flight
Wouldn't he have more luck in SoCal?
Everything seems all fine and dandy until you show up for your first day of work and you learn that you are the bottom getting his stool pushed in for the movie: Cumfight At The O'Gay Corral.
Your new stage name shall be Top Gunn.

I can't land a new internship, sooooooo.... doing the work thang. High paying jobs FTW.
You can't land an internship so you now have a high paying job? What?
well I don't actually HAVE one... yet anyway
if you're a science / engineering major, there's crap loads of research jobs for the summer-- you just have to go and talk to professors and look for "REU" (Research experience for undergrads) or Summer research programs. They won't pay well, but you'll get some good experience you can turn around into a good internship the following year.
Other options:
- Umpire for youth / adult baseball: if you're qualified, you can umpire youth baseball for over $20/game, cash if you get in with one of the travel teams in legion or federation ball. Work 4-5 nights for two hours and you can have enough to make rent.
- Food service at the U dorms: always a need there with summer camper programs
- Just looking at mlive.com's job search, I found summer jobs for grounds crew at an apartment complex, a clerical assistant at a Kerrytown retailer, and a front desk worker at a hotel. Get on the internet and look man!
In the future, it's really important to look for internships, etc. earlier in the year. A lot of places will be hiring interns in January or February.
Or before. Some of the most competitive internships begin their search in October.
It's funny this is up here because I just got offered a PT summer job I applied and interviewed for.
It's only 12 hours a week, but coupled with some high school soccer reffing and baseball/softball umping, I should be able to cover all my rent, bills, and "summer in AA" bar tabs.
Found the job through:

This is the third straight summer it has come through for me. Apply early and often, though, as I think each summer it took 3-6 tries before I found the right fit and offer.
Always need help, you pick your shifts, and the starting pay's over 8.50
plus you can usually end up mooching enough food to cut into your food bill and meet some interesting people
The Real World auditions are coming to Detroit...
