Way to check Hockey Game with Phone?
So I just realized that tonight I am attending a University of Toledo Communications Alumni gathering at the last Toledo Walleye home game of the season. I really kind of need to go to this, because, while I have a job, it's not a job I love by any means, and they have been laying off a LOOOOT of people lately, so I can see the writing on the wall. Networking at this point in time would be... intelligent.
Anyhow, oops. I'm not going to be able to watch the Be-whatchamacalit State hockey game tonight. I do, however, have a Verizon phone capable of SOME web content, but not all. No flash, for instance. Is there any Verizon service of place online where I can track the game with my phone?
Michigan Hockey has a twitter page that usually updates every few minutes during games. Won't give you the kind of real time tracking that Gamecast or something like that would, but probably enough to make the occasional checking you'll be able to do satisfying.
I'm sure they'll tweet for scores and penalties. That's what I'm MOSTLY looking for.
you have a phone 'tied' to your account and that you click the grey circle with the phone in it on the twitter site. i've added things and completely forgotten to also choose the phone option. maybe im just really dumb and you already knew that.
you could try the mobile version of mobile.rivals.com and go to the wolverine site and follow the post titles on the fort or in the yost post.
I use MGoBlog's open thread with the iPhone.
ESPN maybe?
1) the twitter account is twitter.com/Michigan_Hockey
make sure you put the underscore and caps for the M and H
2) verizon internet service is the one that gives you free access to ESPN360.... maybe try ahead of time if you can watch espn360 on your phone?
Do the caps really matter?
edit: no, they don't. just checked on another browser where I hadn't already visited the feed.
Used espn.com yesterday to get the scores. Only presented time left in the game and the score, but was better than nothing. Go to "Scores by Sport" then "NCAA Scores" and it should give you a menu for NCAA Hockey.
does the ucho link work better? i know espn is roughly half a period off at times unless someone scores
