Meanwhile, Arizona just scored again. 42 - 16....
So there's that.
Washington state is 5-5! It isn't Akron or anything. We won that game on a fluke. We got lucky.
You know we're going to see Arizona in our bowl right? It's inevitable. I'll be routing for Michigan of course but I honestly ant day we wouldn't be better right now with Rodriguez and his d coordinator he now has in Arizona.
Maybe ... but I wonder whether that matchup makes sense from a fanbase point of view.
Which bowl are you thinking of? Where it's held will determine how many fans will travel to it.
The lesser bowls are mostly interested in getting as many people in the stadium as they can and providing a decent matchup. Michigan and Arizona are on opposite sides of the country. If the game was held somewhere on the east coast it's unlikely AZ fans would travel, in any number, to the game. Ditto Michigan fans traveling the west coast for a bowl game.
(Did you see the stadium shots for the Oregon game? Many empty seats. Bad weather here in Tucson today, but the problem is mostly a largely apathetic football fanbase. Most homegames are undersold, and there's absolutely no buzz about town on gameday.)
I suspect that Washington State would be favored over Nebraska and we lost at home to Nebraska.
How did this guy pass a 100 level public speaking class?
Like there is when you type "100 level speak class."
You need to step away for a little bit, man. You subject yourself to every single comment and it seems like you feel obligated to reply and fight every single one that you don't agree with. Let it go for a little while, man.
It's gonna be OK.
My word, we would not score 10 on Oregon and they would roll over our defense for 60.
Yeah rich rod will be in the national title picture in the next two years. I'm happy for him. He deserved better and I'm glad he's moved on and found success. The guys an offensive genius and a great coach.
Rich Rod in the national title picture in two years?! His ceiling is 8-9 wins... Last time I checked, that doesn't get you into the National Championship picture.
Rich Rod also didn't beat Oregon; Oregon beat themselves by basically giving up on this season-
On the rose bowl- " been there, done that"... They've lost the passion to play. Look at this LSU game, passion is still there and they're what, 7-3??
Basically winning out and a couple losses and they're in the National Title picture. What you saw today in Tucson is what RIch Rod's teams look like when he has his right hand man coaching the D. Arizona has nowhere near the talent we have, and they play in a much tougher conference, and they're going to have a better record than us.
He has coached numerous teams that have won more than your pulled out of your ass "ceiling" of 8 OR 9 wins. Go lay down for a bit or read a book or something.
Do you ever get dizzy with all the spin you try to pull off?
it's amazing [read: heartbreaking] how quickly this fanbase sours
I mean it been almost a decade since our last big ten championship in which time out rival has won four. The only time we beat OSU in the last decade is when they lost their coach in a scandal. Of course since they got a new coach they have lost 0 games. Our best record over the last 14 years was 11 and 2 which we accomplished twice. The last ten years have seen the following in terms of losses: 3 3 3 5 2 4 9 7 6 2 5 with this year at five and counting. By the way our chief rival has the following in terms of losses over the last decade 0 2 4 2 1 2 3 2 7 0 with possibly another 0 underway.
Why would any of our fans be unhappy? I guess they all just like to complain
Pray tell what are you drinking. It's four losses to date. 5 are on the cards, but it's not done yet.
All you idiots saying no better than RR...we went to one bowl in 3 years and got curb stomped. Under Hoke we are 3 bowls in 3 years, one sugar bowl victory, one last second loss to a good sc team and a likely no name bowl this year.
That's vastly better, but our offensive performance is ordinary this year. Maybe change our OL coach and OC, but otherwise we are still a mark up from where we were with RR (who's only mistake mind you was not getting a descend DC).
I don't want to see a bad offense.
I don't think 3 years is that short of a period of time!
whether in the locker room or on the sidelines were Bo and Woody. That must stand for something.
Saban even though winning by 40 points excoriates players if the mess up in the game. He demands and get high performance. He is not there to be liked but rather respected, feared and uncompromising when it comes to winning.
You nailed it. It is about instilling confidence in the program and team. When those guys talk, you know things will be different and then it is followed up with a change on the field. You never walk away feeling like Saban is your buddy. You walk away feeling like he has a grasp of the issues and how to fix them.
That was quite discouraging.
Ask yourself, are we better off today than we were 3 yrs ago? Would humbly submit no. At least we have a "Michigan Man" at the helm......
Rich rod era was the worst in u of m history. Stop comparing.
That said this sucks.
He was only refering to the state of the team in year 3 under both staffs. It is a perfectly valid argument, that they are in fact not any better off right now. They essentially traded a mess of a defense for a mess of a offense, don't see how that is any better.
About the only thing you could argue is that the young talent is probally better, but if you matched up this UM team against the 2010 team I think it would be a push.
You and I sir are of like mind.
Confidence in the staff is gone. Big difference is that Hoke had a 10 win season (against an easy schedule) and a so-so track record while Rich Rod had a worse record at UM, but a better track record.
at least give the next coach a loaded team unlike the rosters with huge holes inherited by Hoke and RR.
Third time is the solution!
Seriously? Where would RR be with this team if he were still the coach? Who would play RB? Who would be our WR? Who would our DC be? Who would our TE be? Who would play on the OL besides Lewan and Schofield? RR didn't just leave a gaping hole in talent or even warm bodies at OL, but TE, RB (what uperclassmen is left that he recruited besides Fitz?), WR, and even QB if Devin were to go down. I don't recall who we lost due to the process besides Fisher.... and I can't imagine RR pulling in a better class than this years freshman with his past history at Michigan.
I seen people rooting for RR back and saying Go Bucks!! WTF, I never I thought I would see the day Michigan fans saying that, GTFO if you say Go Bucks, or if you say I'm gonna sell my tix to Buckeye fans. Your not a Michigan fan if you have that mindset!
I can't understand what you're saying but if you're happy with this coaching staff and the direction of Michigan football that's your opinion. If I had my way Carr would have never left and rich rod would have been given a real chance because what went down was wrong and any honest person knows that.
I'm saying I seen people make comments like " I'm done with this season so go Bucks" , that's not acceptable on this blog man. Your not a Michigan fan if you say shit like that. I'm not happy with the state of our program right now either but I will never say that.
If I had my way Carr would have never left and rich rod would have been given a real chance because what went down was wrong and any honest person knows that.
Are you willing to give Brady a chance? He's been here as long as RichRod and has won 11 more games.
Rich Rod lost 5 of his last 7 and got blown out in his final three games. His trajectory was no better and worse considering his shit first two seasons to coincide with it.
"I seen people rooting for RR back and saying Go Bucks!!"
Seen people? You have to be eroc from gbmhjkolygfrwolverine.
To make this day worse
Anyone still think richrod a a bad coach
Nearly did so against Akron at home, as well as UConn on the road. The hell is your point?
He's literally won everywhere he's been, save for Michigan. Maybe the problem lies more with Michigan, than it did with Rodriguez. In only his second season with Arizona (and do we really need to get into just how bad they were before he was hired?) he already has a bigger win than Hoke has in his entire coaching career. And that's not even getting into everything Rodriguez accomplised before getting to Ann Arbor. Saying he was a bad fit at Michigan? Sure, that can mean, and be due to, several things. But to say he's a bad coach? You're just proving you're full of shit.
Washington State has 6 wins. It's not like they're the Cougars of recent vintage under Paul Wullf that won 2 or less games three times over four seasons. They're a decent team.
But if he can beat Oregon maybe we can beat Ohio....
...RichRod beat Oregon today. Of course he did.
Edit: Beaten to the punch!
To make this day better
Snaps a 22 bowl streak. Things could be much worse people
That's only a little worse.
About Florida's troubles?
Brady Hoke is a headset-less Kirk Ferentz. Neither of them seem like they could give a damn
that we had a coach as good as KF
Is the last thing we should worry about. The problems are on the field, practice and on Saturdays.
Don't go saying logical things. You will cause people to erupt.
I'm thankful for only 2 more post game press conferences where the eruption of anger over BH not acting like an idiot/showing passion and fire for the cameras to appease the masses will be no more.
Here's a little hint for all of you expecting something different next week, BH will not yell and scream or smack himself in the face or say Al Borges should be run out of town in his post game conference. He will say the same things he did today and after MSU and after Neb. Unless UM wins, then maybe he'll say something different.
