Watch Ojemudia play in Semper Fidelis Bowl, Today @6:00
Sorry if already posted, but CBS sports will be airing the Semper Fidelis bowl, which commit Mario Ojemudia is taking part in at 6pm.
I'm a huge fan of Ojemudia's game and I feel like this is a great opportunity for him to test his motor against some of the nation's elite, and I'm excited to see how it plays out.
Other players to note playing in the game:
- Jordan Diamond
- Alex Kozan
- Armani Reeves
[edit: to those who are wondering, this is the first year of the Semper Fidelis All American Bowl, and the sponsers hope it will soon pass the prestige of the Army and UA bowls, to help, they let Tom Lemming pick the recruits that'll play today]

If they let Tom Lemming pick then there must be bunch of ND recruits and prospects. It is crazy how bias that guy is, he basically recruits for ND.

Watching the pre-game stuff now; why the hell is Tom Lemming's recruiting rankings so freaking different than the other reputable services?
January 3rd, 2012 at 6:10 PM ^
was mimic other services he would be out of a job.

I don't really follow Tom Lemming, but he's kind of the godfather of recruiting...so I'm not going to question his process. I'm not saying he's always right or anything. In fact, I seriously disagreed with some of his rankings a couple years ago. But he's been at it longer than Rivals, Scout, 247, etc.

For those who care, Ojemudia is starting at DE for the white team. First series, he perfectly read and reacted to a screen pass on 3rd down, was about to tackle the RB who didn't even realize he was there, and then promptley tripped and fell. At least the RB had to avoid him on the ground and thus was tackled by an LB for no gain. Teamwork.

Here's a list of all the Michigan offerees who are playing in tonight's game:

Ojemudia sheds his blocker on a fourth and 1 play and goes for the tackle in the backfield, but Russell Shell plants a hard foot and slips past Mario and gets the first.

Ojemudia sheds and works around his blocker to hit Shell for a half-yard gain. And then makes another tackle the next play but 5 yards downfield after coming across the play. Then the next play, crashes too hard on a pass rush letting the QB get outside for a 1st down run.

This play by play is very much appreciated. Thank you so much for doing it.

Awesome, love the idea. Having been a US Marine all my adult life, I sure hope this really takes off.
Semper Fidelis, and GO BLUE!

A little late, but Ojemudia about to get in on a tackle the RB at the LOS, but kind of whiffs again on the tackle. Probably because he was already in the arms of another player, and kind of got moved out of the way at the last second. Kid is finding himself constantly around the ball and gets upfield really quickly on the pass rush. Just needs to finish.

Ojemudia sheds the TE again and gets in on a tackle with the LB for now gain. He can really get off blocks, and stands up well to the TEs, but he gets pushed back by the OTs and doesn't stand up the doubles.
Also, Mario with a good bull rush and knocks down the QB as he throws along with another dude (camera left the field of view, so I didn't get a great view)

he won't be asked to stand up to OT's or doubles for at least a year, I would think. He will be playing next year on pass rush downs, however

Agree. Not to concerned about it in the immediate future, and he'll be fine after he puts on some weight. I'm quite impressed with the fact that he can still keep people off his body with his hands, even the OTs.

I missed it...how did our commits and prospects do? Can anyone give a unofficial "non-maize & blue shaded glasses" summary?

I was a bit surprised about Ojemudia, because he didn't seem to get off the ball very quickly. But he was playing defensive end, whereas he usually played DT for Farmington Hills Harrison. Perhaps the change of position made him a little slow to react, since the ball wasn't right underneath his nose.
He used his hands well, got off some blocks, and made some plays. He held up pretty well but didn't do anything exceptional.
The stars of the game were guys who we either whiffed on or weren't recruiting, anyway (Jaydon Mickens, Deontay Greenberry, etc.). Moana Ofahengaue looked pretty good, but I don't think he's coming to Michigan. Reeves, Standifer, and Wayne Morgan looked pretty average.
