Washington Post on Hand
But the comparison is interesting:
4 Year graduation rates were an eye opener. 38% for Alabama? To 73% for Michigan.
Of all the alumni they could've mentioned: MIke Wallace, Ben Carson, Dick Gephardt, James Earl Jones, Chris Van Allsburg, the founder of Google, the dude who designed the iPod, hell; even Madonna for crap's sake- and they have to bring up the unabomber...
America's first documented serial killer(and the devil in"The Devil in the White City") or even Charles Guiteau, the assassin of James Garfield.
Or Leopold and Loeb, first notorious "thrill" killers.
"Several times, Hand has taken a personal vacation from the recruiting game, sending texts to all the college coaches — there are strict limits on how many texts the coaches can send recruits, but no limits the other way around — that he was going to be laying low for awhile. When one coach violated his embargo, he nearly struck the school from the list on the spot."
He's talked about these breaks before in interviews, where he basically just wants to be the 17 year-old that he is and to enjoy the time before he makes this decision. I really don't think anyone can begrudge him that, and I like how it seems he rather insists on being respected as a person as well as a player.
That was a pretty good read, OP. Thanks for sharing this.
i *think* that was Florida if one recalls comments he made before about taking a step back from recruiting and how Florida still pressed him.
a British military unit in the Battle of Balaclava.(Crimean War) I would have thought that they would have referenced a Confederate outfit.
You think he should identify with the Confederates? Okay.
the unit. It is just as likely that it referenced the line from Kipling's poem.
Edit: Oh, and Mr. Miggle - go back and actually read everything.
read the article.
My favorite line: "Ohio State’s downfall? “I don’t want to talk about it,” he says."
haha, loved that line. I can't help but picture the gif of him cringing while say this.
UM: You can meet Michael Jackson.
DH: Ok, we're done.
I wonder what the flag was that caused a seven yard penalty on 1st down.
On the 14 yard line
Holding past the line of scrimmage...
Highly recommended. It sure isn't hard to like this kid. Canzior, can you remind me of your connection to him?
And I have been close friends for a number of years
“After four years of sales pitches, I think that stage is over,” Harris says. “The last sales pitch they have is just this [football] season coming up.”
I think this quote is very telling. The only way that Michigan keeps recuiting at the pace we are is by starting to show progress on the field. This will be a big year with a lot of big time visitors and if we can win the big games the flood gates will open up even more for recruits.
That intro video was so cool
I really, really enjoy how much he hates Ohio.
if Hand decided to wear the Winged helmet. Our Defense would be INSANE.
