Warren Buffett - Michigan Fan?

Everyone knows that Warren Buffett is a huge fan and supporter of Nebraska football.  During the Person to Person show on CBS, Buffett gave a tour of his Berkshire Hathaway offices.  In a cabinet outside his office he had a large display of memorabilia including a Nebraska football helmet.  But prominently displayed above that was a Michigan helmet (along with a Kansas City Chiefs helmet).

I believe Buffett wrote the forward to Bo's Lasting Lessons book.  Is this related?  Does anyone know why he has a UM helmet?

Before I get too excited, I should point out that he also has a sign above his office door that reads "Invest like a champion today".  Ugh.  The Hell with Notre Dame!

Should we point instead of fist pump during the Victors?

Charlie Munger, Buffett's #2 at Berkshire Hathaway, is a big Michigan donor (that $1.2 million is the tip of the iceberg) and fan (he also attended UM in the 1940s before he had to leave for WWII).  I imagine that might have something to do with it.  Awesome though.

And I swear I'm not making this up but Craig Ross details how he somehow found himself deputized to take Bo's last or second-to-last autograph to Warren Buffett, of all people. Craig isn't making this up, either: there are pictures. It's an incredible, preposterous story.

Ross got the B School for $100 million.  I think the Athletic Dept's annual budget is around $100 million.  This would pay for 10 years!

You've apparently renamed it as well, instead of after Fritz CRISLER.

Who I believe graduated from U of M Law School in 1954 or 1952 and formed a law firm (Munger, Tolles & Richardson) in Los Angeles.  He then fortunately met a client, Warren Buffett, and the rest is history.  The practice of law became not as interesting as it once was for Charlie.

Munger has been very very generous regarding U of M Law School, an institution that is constantly and aggressively seeking donations..........every six months.

Charlie Munger went to undergrad at M (although didn't graduate because we left to serve in WWII) and later graduated from Harvard Law.
