Walton racked up 20 points, eight assists, five rebounds and two steals against the Spartans last week before tying his season-high with 25 points to go along with five rebounds, four assists and three steals against the Hoosiers on Sunday.
In the two games, Walton shot 60.9 percent (14-for-23) from the field, 83.3 percent (5-for-6) from 3-point range and 100 percent (12-for-12) from the free-throw line, and boasted a 3.0 assist to turnover ratio (12 assists, four turnovers).

The last Michigan player to win the award was Stauskas, two years ago.

I was really simply implying that Walton won "his" first player of the week award, and thought context was sufficient for the title.

Regardless, I hope this is the beginning of a number of such awards . . . how about DJ Wilson, or Mo Wagner? It'd be awesome to beat Wisconsin and Minnesota with either of them in a starring role!

Walton definitely earned it, and congratulations to him.

Watching him lately has been very exciting - we will definitely miss him when he leaves Ann Arbor. I wonder if we'll see him as perhaps a second-round possibility in the draft? Maybe I am getting ahead of myself.
