W Lax upsets OSU at the Horseshoe for first-ever win over OSU

There's hardly been any good things that have happened this season for Michigan Women's Lacrosse.

The season started out 0-5 with losses against teams Michigan has beaten as recently as last year easily.

The Wolverines took out their frustrations last week in a record-setting beatdown of Detroit in a 21-11 win.

Today they took on Ohio State down at the empty Horseshoe in Columbus.

Michigan had never beaten OSU prior to today, 0-4 but last year's game was very close.

Lauren Oberlander had a hat trick in the first half, but Michigan still trailed, 6-4.

The Wolverines would eventually go on a run to take an 11-8 lead with just 4:57 left to play. OSU would score 3 goals in the final 5 minutes, including the game-tying goal with just 43 seconds left.

The game would go into OT. But this time, there would be no refs to save OSU.

Michigan's all-time leading scorer, Kim Coughlan, would score the game-winning OT goal.

Michigan picks up the biggest win the program's 4 year history. They shock Ohio State, 12-11 in OT at the Horseshoe. The first win by any Michigan team at that hell hole since 2000.

This is the first conference win in program history.

Michigan is now 3-7 and 1-0 in the B1G. The team returns to The Big House to take on the Big Purple Machine on Thursday afternoon, which will be on BTN.

Good. One of my son's LAX coaches is a buckeye and like to talk smack in general. Most recent was my asking when the Men's Hoops team was playing on TH/Fri of March Madness ...lol Now if the Men's LAX can repeat in a couple weeks!

But...if the head coach, 4 years ago, had aggressively recruited in west Michigan (2 All-Americans playing for other schools) things might have been different. Still...Go Blue and take a drive to the west side
